Text groups--adding and deleting
Why can't i add and remove people in my text messages, despite the fact that there are non-Apple users? This seems to be such a basic need, why hasn't this been solved?
iPhone 5, iOS 10

If everyone in the group is using iMessages, you can delete people. If anyone in the group is using SMS, you cannot. It is my understanding this is a function of the way group messaging (SMS) works and that it's not for Apple to fix.
However, you can certainly let Apple know your thoughts here:
Meanwhile, you can ask the other people in the group to create a new group without you. You can also mute the group message. Go to the main conversation screen in Messages. Find the group message thread. Put your finger on it and pull to the left. Tap the purple bell icon. You will not longer be notified of any reponses to the thread.

Add or remove someone from a group conversation
Anyone in a group iMessage can add or remove someone from the conversation. You can remove a person from a group iMessage that has at least three other people. You can’t add or remove people from group MMS messages or group SMS messages.
Types of group messages
The three types of group messages that you might see are: group iMessage, group MMS, and group SMS. The Messages app automatically chooses the type of group message to send based on you and your recipients' settings, network connection, and carrier plan. For example:

One member, who is not the author, is maliciously removing me from the group text without my permission and I would like to know how to prove their identity in hopes of bringing this to an end . I’m wondering if this is hacking and if it is reportable to law-enforcement.
I also believe my voicemails are being deleted by the same person and again I do not know how to prove this and their identity.
any assistance be it what to do or a forensic person to hire would be greatly appreciated.

No, it's not hacking. If you are in a group where removing people from the group is possible, there's nothing "illegal" about it. Contact the other members in the group outside of the group and discuss starting a new group without the troublemaker.

For someone to delete your voicemails, they would need to know the passcode to your voicemail. Contact your carrier to find out how to change the password.
