I recently forgot passcode to iphone and have tried multiple times, waiting 8 hours until iphone becomes available again. went to verizon store and they told me to connect iphone to the computer but the charge cord that comes with phone does not have a usb port to connect to my mac computer

The cables that come with recent iPhone has a USB-C connector instead of the older USB connector.
