Canon R10 Scanner will not start up on my MacBook Air M2 [no driver present]

Purchased MacBook Air M2 a week ago, my Image Formula R10 scanner worked well with Intel based MB Pro BUT CAN NOT be used with this new MBA as no [M*] driver is present in R10's firmware. Discussion with Canon Service verified that current One Touch software/driver is not compatible with M1 or M2 chips. As R10 is a stand alone scanner, all software and drivers are FIRMWARE and last Canon upgrade download of 12/9/22 did not address the M1, M2 problem. Canon service has no idea when software engineers will release a R10 firmware update to solve issue.

MacBook Air, macOS 13.5

Had same problem until yesterday Mar 1, 2024 Canon download, R10 now working

fine on Macbook Air/M2 running Somona 14.3.1.

Steps, download and Install R10_FIrmware_Updater_Mac_V1.2.21.210.dwg [will

take 20 - 30 min to upload to R10]

Once installed make certain that under System Settings folders;

General, Login items show Touch

Privacy & Security, that One touch capture app has Full DIsk Access

under:

Files and Folders

Full Disk Assess

Automation [terminal]

App Management

Restart Mac when when R10 is connect, One Touch app loads and one touch app

can be run, scanning as normal

HI, thanks for info, and found.

Rosetta is automatically applied by Ventura OS when an Intel based application is opened. In my case, the MacBook Air M2 Ventura OS connects via USB to the R10 [verified by viewing OS system report], the CaptureOntouch app opens properly. However, when scan button is pressed ERROR Message comes on screen "cannot use driver". Proper drivers the Canon tech states are onboard the R10 firmware and no M1/M2 update has been developed by Canon engineers to date.
