iTunes music

I got a “new” phone with my cell service provider. I signed in to my iTunes but it says that past purchases cannot be downloaded and it cannot be used on the device for so many days. Does this mean I did not get a new phone?? Why can’t it be fixed?

About iPhone Logins:

Are you able to log into iCloud with this? Seems you were sold a returned iPhone that was never disassociated from some's account, or is a returned item. So, enter the Serial Number here, to see if this has any time left to purchase coverage on it: Check Your Service and Support Coverage - Apple Support. Whatever the result, I recommend you return this to the Carrier, and purchase it from Apple. Perform as instructed here, prior to returning it, including the iCloud logout: What to do Before you Sell, Give Away, or Trade in your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Thank you for the followup reply.

Take this Up with the Carrier:

Then from here, I’d say contact the store. Request to speak with the manager, as they’d the the one who overrules transactions (I’d take it).

The One Obvious Scenario:

The first thing that comes to mind is that it is a returned item that you purchased. Whichever cashier performed the return transaction never looked to seeing if it was previously-associated to another Apple ID. The store clerk should have known better.

I thought there was going to be an easy fix that I was overlooking. I’ve tried it all, it’s just saying I have to wait so many days.

Thank you for the screenshot.

You’ve been Scammed:

Well, see: There you go. You were sold a previously-owned device. So, who is the seller? Intentional or not, you’ve been scammed.

You Need to Get this Instigated:

I. Contact the Seller:

Request a return.

II. Where was this Purchased?:

A. Online?:

If this was purchased online (i.e. eBay or Amazon) then contact the site, seeing if the seller can be held accountable and if you can get your money back.

B. In-Person?:

If this as purchased in person, then there may be nothing you can do but contact them, asking for your money back.

Or...

C. A Retailer?:

If purchased at a retailer, take it back, asking what your options are for return. Return policies vary by rules of law. So, talk to the Manager, asking if you can get this returned.

III. Avoiding Scams:

In all recommend getting an expensive Apple Device directly from Apple and none other. That way you can easily avoid scams. Getting it online might result in scams (and plenty are reported on these forums).
