Old samsung printer (ML 1740) to Mac OS ventura (version 13.5.2)

I found the solution for my Samsung ml 1710 for os Monteray. They won't let me post a link so just google

github Old-Samsung-Printer-Splix-Catalina and after you finish go to the issues tab to fix the permissions.

This should work with the following in Ventura (at least in Intel). Please report if it works also with ML-1740.

Thanks for that. So close... but sadly there doesn't seem to be a Samsung ML 1710 option and the ML 1660 series doesn't work nor does the ML 1860 series. I did get it to print once but it didn't print the document. It just printed the error.

Any other thoughts?

Yes, I also get an error with a wrong option with my ML-1675.

...I think this is not rocket science and with some minor update all those old printers should work ... so much unneeded printer garbage...

Hi,

The ML-1710 is one of the models at https://www.openprinting.org/printers/manufacturer/Samsung/. Perhaps a comparison with some of the other Linux drivers could give a clue to the difference between the models.

Sorry in the original post I meant 1710 NOT 1740! Ugh. Frustration has me making too many typos.
