Can't magnify in Markup after iPhone iOS 17 Update

I updated my iphone to ios 17 and then I needed to edit a photo with markup. That's when I noticed the magnify option is missing. What can I do to get it back.

Went in to edit a photo for my small

business, I am the sole service provider & owner of a facial studio, & the magnifying tool is missing from the markup option in the photo editor. This tool is extremely useful to show case my clients before & after treatment results. I’m beyond disappointed in Apple for removing this feature. This feature is extremely important to small businesses, which are the backbone of this ever declining economy, please fix it ASAP. You’re hurting small businesses.

I submitted, thank you! Its not just the magnifier though.

1) the magnifier

2) the DELAY in menus. They think we want sweeping animations NO I WANT FAST. When i tap something, i want the popup immediately like it used to be

3) messages…they need to put photos below the message like it was. That sweeping animation popup is HORRIBLE, harder to see, harder to use, wastes time. It needs to go

4) the boxes are all filled in! This doubles my work flow! Doubles the time it takes me to mark up EVERY image!

these changes are an absolute disgrace. And that feedback form has limited characters so you cant even tell them everything they messed up. For most, these are probably minor inconveniences. But for me its an additional 20 hours of work each week so to say im furious is an understatement.

It seems to me that apple is willing to dismantle all the best feature of our smartphone. another missing feature that i loved so much is sign documents importing the signature with the camera.

i can inagine thath all this feature will be avaiable on third part apps, over a subscription plan.

shameful

I’ve relied on the magnifying glass feature in the iOS Photos app for both professional training materials and personal use, thanks to its simplicity and effectiveness. Its removal in iOS 17 has significantly impacted my workflow, as alternative apps complicate what was once a straightforward process. The built-in magnifier was not only efficient but also intuitively designed, making detailed image examination accessible without the need for additional, complex apps. I urge Apple to consider its reinstatement, reflecting the real utility it offers to users who appreciate the clean and user-friendly design of the native Photos app.

Was and still am so p is sed that they got rid of it.. I’m seriously considering going back to android. Their cameras are much better and I think they have some better features than Apple. Their platform is easy to use. I bet they wouldn’t get rid of their Magnifier. Seems to me we’ve already had a couple updates for 17 one of them should’ve been the return of the Magnifier.
