Since downloading the Apple iso 17.0 onto my Iphone 11 Pro my Facebook Messenger app won't open. When I try to open the app It just disappears, but shows as an open app, but just with messenger logo in the middle of the screen. I have tried reinstalling the app numerous times and also resetting the network settings.
If someone could please advise.

I just added text size to control centre, adjusted it to 100% and now messenger works slowly increasing it back to 160% messenger app still working, so far so good no more crashes 🤞🏻ok after more testing you can’t go over 135% text size otherwise it will start crashing again, anything below that is working 💯 for me

Thanks all, the fix is simply, go into phone settings-Display & Brightness-Text Size, make your text size slightly smaller and Messenger is up and running again. I have posted same to Report Problem with Meta/Facebook.
Reducing the font took care of the problem! I had my font at about 190% and lowered it to 135% and Messenger loaded and worked fine!
I also recently upgraded from iPhone X to 15 Pro. I followed this same advice and it worked - deleted (not removed from screen) by holding app, choosing Remove App -> Delete App. Then went to App Store and reinstalled app. It worked, automatically all linked and working. Had same issues with FB and Instagram, but they automatically corrected themselves earlier for some reason.
Open The App Store and check for updates. Many apps will require updates for compatibility with ios 17.
Since iOS 17 has just yet been released officially, you should report the issue to Facebook, in case app needs also be updated.
Did you install iso 17 via the computer or by suing Wi-Fi?
Upgrading via the computer might help, in case the Wi-Fi upgrade had issues installing correctly.
reduce you font size see if that works Apple and messenger did an update that corrected this make sure you have done all updates after ios 17 update it didn't work but they did another update and then messenger did one it was working for me you have to do all updates
Have you actually deleted Messenger? Don’t worry, you won’t lose any data. After deleting, if you then go to the App Store you will see Messenger has the Cloud symbol plus a down arrow (rather than ‘Open’) next to it. Press the Cloud symbol to reinstall Messenger and hopefully it will work okay. I took these steps and now everything works fine. Good Luck 🍀

I just spent 3 hours of troubleshooting , you will not like this but the only way to fix it is to erase the iphone and start from scratch :(
