Since downloading the Apple iso 17.0 onto my Iphone 11 Pro my Facebook Messenger app won't open. When I try to open the app It just disappears, but shows as an open app, but just with messenger logo in the middle of the screen. I have tried reinstalling the app numerous times and also resetting the network settings.
If someone could please advise.

I just added text size to control centre, adjusted it to 100% and now messenger works slowly increasing it back to 160% messenger app still working, so far so good no more crashes 🤞🏻ok after more testing you can’t go over 135% text size otherwise it will start crashing again, anything below that is working 💯 for me

When I try to open messenger it flickers then screen comes back to Home Screen. Reloaded and reinstalled but nothing.
Then contact facebook. That’s a facebook product. They probably haven’t gotten their update out yet.
The same problem for me after updating. iPhone 14 Pro. It just disappears while attempting to open.
There was a messenger update today. So now you can enlarge your font size and it works normally now

Yes, I just got my iPhone 12 today with iso 17. Messenger app bombs out when I try to open it but I can receive a message but can’t answer it! Yes, I have deleted and reinstalled the app. Restarted iPhone etc.
I have the same problem. It works fine on my iPad with iOS 17 but not on my iPhone 12. Tried deleting the app and re-installing but the problem remains. Next thought was to reset the phone and reinstall everything or just revert back to iOS 16, but have decided to wait a while and see if Facebook and / or Apple get this sorted. The amount of time iOS 17 has been in use by testers as a beta, and still it falls on its face.
After the 17.1.1 I could not able to see the Facebook active status. Is it because of new version also I am not sure. On the messenger list I can see green dot next to my friend name but inside their page on top there is no status, is it because of new software update ? Anyone can advise me
My iPhone 14 Pro isn’t showing my contacts on messenger ? I have tired everything & anything . All my apps are up to date . Deleted re installed it , looked at videos nothing . I desperately need help.

When you say start from scratch, are we talking about erasing and resetting and then restoring from a backup, or are we talking about erasing and starting completely from scratch?
iOS17 didn’t hurt fb and Msgr on my phone, but iPadOS17 on my pad had rendered fb and Msgr inoperable.
