Apple Care Plus on a reconditioned phone

Hey there,

I bought my iphone 12 about a year ago from Back Market and just found out it has Apple Care Plus while scrolling through my settings (see screenshot below). Is Apple Care Plus still valid even if I’m not the one paying for it?

Thanks.

AppleCare+ doesn’t have to be month to month. Whoever purchased the phone originally apparently paid for it up front, which results in 2 years of coverage from the original purchase date.

Coverage follows the device in that case, so yes. It’s still valid.

Keeping in mind that it is only valid in the country where the device was originally sold.

Check the model number in Settings>General>About. The 2 characters before the /A determine the country of original sale.
