iOS 17 iMessage Bugs?

I am having a problem making changes or corrections in my text messages before I send them. I have an iPhone XR updated to iOS 17.0.1

–cannot get the cursor to the right place in order to make a correction, have lost an entire text msg when it is almost ready to go, etc. The entire text message experience is balky.

Is anyone else having this problem?

I have the same problem after moving to IOS 17. I have been working with my IT department for 2.5 weeks now. We even decommissioned my iphone 12 and tranferred to a brand new iphone 14. Same issue, new phone. Please help.

Yes! I have this same exact problem! And then if it’s suggesting a word it doesn’t let you click it right.. plus the auto correct adds in suggested words that I’m not even typing.

Yep, the entire typing / texting experience is horrific. What on earth did you do APPLE? It’s so bad I may go get an Android. It’s literally unbearable.

This text cursor problem has really been annoying me since the updates!

If u have done the latest update to 17.1 that should be fixed. I'm only now experiencing the notes app for large notes that is freezing up and jumping to different spots

My wife and I are having the same texting problems on our iPhones after updating to 17. Dictation, typing, and cursor problems are all now such a hassle, and It is so frustrating!!!

Examples:

-If I have dictation on and want to simply erase one letter, I click the backspace button, and

it erases the entire word!

-If I am at the end of a text and want to move the cursor to the beginning to correct something, it doesn't work! It is major wrangling to get the cursor to the right place.

-Dictation accuracy seems worse. Dictation should be getting better, not worse.

-When dictating, whole words are missed. Not dictated incorrectly, simply missed entirely.

-When I click on a suggested word, a different word sometimes ends up in the text.

-When I dictate someone's name, there is often a comma after their name, though I did not say "comma".

C'mon Apple, get it together and fix this! Texting is an integral part of our lives now, and there are times when I want to throw my phone across the room because I can no longer dictate/type and send a simple text without problems.

Yep👍. IOS 17 is totally buggy!

This issue with messages and not being able to move the cursor back towards the beginning of a message is outrageous 😤

It has destroyed any wish to have ANY conversation via text!

The biggest issue I have is that APLLE doesn’t seem to know how to instantly respond to their faults😡

Address the matter right away and tell us an update is on the way. I’m dumbfounded how something like this even made it through to the actual release in iOS17🤯

There are numerous other issues as well that need addressing quickly, like CONTACTS!! It’s horrible!!

Not that but I am experiencing the messages app freezing after I send a voice message. It won't let me go view any other messages or do anything in the messages app until it sends. They're also taking longer to send. It is TERRIBLE

I thought it was just me going through this. All the “bug fix” updates after iOS 17 initially came out hasn’t addressed this issue. The message app can’t even be used or opened until the voice message sends, nor can you turn your phone off in the process unless you ask Siri to restart. Then it works but the message of course doesn’t send. I’m almost positive it’s because it’s trying to transcribe the voice message and struggling to do so. I would like if that could just be turned off or gotten rid of because it’s never even remotely correct anyway.
