AirPrint not working after iOS 17 Update

Thank you! I had been using my Canon Image Class 264DW to print from my Apple devices ((Ipad9, Ipad Pro, and Apple SE phone) for a couple of years and all worked well until several months ago, when the Canon printer disappeared from the print screen. I was unable to fix the problem and thought it was an ios update as some people suspected, except that my husband’s Epson XP7100 continued to work fine. I didn’t realize that a firmware upgrade could be done through the printer rather than using Canon’s website (which requires entry of the serial number, which I couldn’t locate). But I followed your instructions, and it was a breeze!

I have an iPhone 8 on iOS 16 that sees the printer at home, and an iPad with iOS 17 on the same wifi network that "can't find any AirPrint printers".  It's been this way for months and persists across device reboots and printer power cycles.  Resetting network settings on the iPad doesn't help. My printer is a Samsung M2875FD, but from other users it seems this happens with many (all?) printers.

It's hard to believe that after 6 months, Apple with all its resources hasn't been able to fix this problem.  Or hasn't tried to. This is such a fundamental level bug that it's hard to believe they didn't pick it up before release.  Maybe they are too busy trying to sell new devices to worry about existing customers. It's a Samsung M2875FD. It doesn't support Wifi and has a physical connection to the LAN. It does support Airprint though and is listed as supported by Apple (About AirPrint - Apple Support (ZA)). I have an IOS 16 iPhone that does see this printer and can print to it, but my iPad on the same Wifi network as the iPhone can't see it no matter what. I can't tell you how many things I've tried, including printer firmware upgrades, countless restarts on both sides, resetting network settings on the iPad, etc...

After updating to iOS 17.0.1, AirPrint to either Epson or HP printers no longer working. Both printers show up but disappear after selecting.

Need fix now.

I have the same problem with ET-2856. Firmware is up to date. Any help welcome

Same problem. iPad flashed msg “check the printer for errors “. Will print using “print with HP smart print”, but that doesn’t accept Pages format

No file type will print. I can see my printers, but when I try to select one of them, the system won’t acknowledge them.

Same here. All other s/w is current. I have an HP printer that worked w/o issue until the iOS 17.01 update yesterday.

Printer selection does not hold.

It is obvious from the volume of replies that this is a big issue

Is anyone at Apple paying attention?

Updated Brother and canon firmware but still not showing printers with any ios17 device. IOS16 no issues.

I do not have any Norton products and have the problem. Hello Apple? Are you listening?

Just updated to iOS 17.02 on my iPhone 11 but still can’t print via wifi to my Epson WF14-3620.

Same with IOS 17.02. Can‘t find Samsung printer anymore. Need to use another iPhone that wasn’t updated!

Same with iOS 17.02. IPhone and iPad. Sonoma works fine... Old iOS no Problem!

Scott, iOS 17, say no more…. reinstall 16 on your device problem solved
