Can I never charge the Mouse , not use it without damaging it.

I bought a mouse for my laptop, thinking my sister-in-law would use it when she visits. She still wants to schlep her own laptop out from Ontario, so never uses my mouse. I don’t use it because I use my iPad. Can I just store this in a cupboard and never charge it. Or will it damage the battery if I don’t charge it once in a while?

Batteries that are allowed to be completely exhausted can be damaged. Long term storage of an exhausted rechargeable battery is not a good thing.
