Purchased iPhone 15 Pro Max for in store pick up but apple has not yet charged me

On friday September 15th I ordered an iPhone 15 pro max for "in-store" pickup on September 22th, but as of today (September 20th) apple has not yet charged me.

Has anybody experienced a similar situation?

When I placed my order for iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, I was offered the option to pick them up in-store on the 22nd. And Apple now let's you choose the time on the 22nd you want to pick them up, in 15 minute intervals.

Nope. Will have to brave it next week and see if I can actually buy one in store then. Not too concerned about the color, or the storage space. The base 256GB is fine. but I have to wonder if there will be any available for walk-ins.


I'm in D.C. for a month visiting my sister and taking a course for work as well, two birds with one stone and all that, So I thought I'd just order it and pick it up at a store, since I can't be at my sister's home most mornings to sign for it when it arrives, I'll be at the course most days until 4pm.


While Apple hasn't updated the status of orders, I found both of our phones on the UPS site. Same as last couple years, they'll fly tonight from China to Alaska, then to Louisville, KY, then to Orlando, then to the distribution center closest to me and on a truck Friday to my house.

Sorry. But at least you won't be waiting into November as some are who found preorders backing up. There are many who would gladly trade places with you!

I actually had a rare occurence because I have a student credit card and this was my first big purchase, so I ordered for in-store pick up on September 22 (ordered on September 15), and I got an email on the 17th saying my payment method did not go through, so I re-uploaded it, same email on 20th. The apple advisor I talked to said that's because my bank thinks the transaction is suspicious. So I changed to my dad's card which should be okay because its been used to buy other iphones in the past. So far its still in processing status but fingers crossed! If you didn't receive emails like me, I'm guessing you should be good.

Also, the allotment each store gets varies. I had an in-store appointment on 18 Sep, had the sales guy there answering all my questions about different trade-ins and credits, then told me I could do it from home if I wanted – but if I wanted to get one for pick-up on the 22nd, he advised to go ahead and order right then. He stood over my shoulder and called for help on a couple of questions I had. By the time (20-30 minutes, mostly having to re-verify my Veteran status), we paged to the final order confirmation and the screen then showed 0 phones available to order for pickup on the 22nd. I went home disappointed, but felt confident in my ability to order from home. Which I did that evening, and the order confirmation shows delivery from Oct 10-17th. So my half-hour delay in ordering it in-store resulted in a 3-4 week wait when I did order from home a few minutes later. Also, during this period, if you order from outside the Apple Store, you HAVE to accept home delivery. Don't know if it will stay that way after they get through all the initial store deliveries, but they told me if I wanted an in-store delivery/pick-up I had missed the window for that.
