I have been missing my emojis since the last IOS update 17. I have gone into keyboards, deleted and reinstalled emoji keyboard, restarted the phone several times. Turned the keyboard settings off and on, restarting along the way. All of the fixes that I found don’t seem to be working. Anyone else have this problem or solution?
Settings / keyboard / hardware keyboard / Press for emoji ON
You tap the + sign next to the enter dialog box. Then you tap Stickers. You'll see some icons in the top row and you'll tap the icon with three faces. That's where all your memoji stickers are.

But how do your choose your personal emoji! It appears they are limited from the original multi-options?

When you go to type a response to a test message, next to the box you type in is a + sign. Tap it. Then tap Stickers.
The only way to recreate them is with the Memoji App on iPhone. Then you have to use them in messages to make it available on iPhone. Ridiculous. But it worked...
They're all there.

My emojis are missing also since the new update. I’m having to make all new avatars and it’s stuck on record. I don’t wanna record a message I just want the avatar/emoji. Anybody know how to get them back?
Thank you but this option does not exist in the updated English keyboard. Apple has removed ALL emoji/avatar characters and replaced them with "stickers" which is what appears in settings where you have pointed us to.
It is clear that Apple did away with a well adopted feature that people employed and enjoyed.

Did you read past the first post to see where they are now? They shouldn't be gone at all. Just moved and you access them differently.
After I updated to 17.1 my avatar is gone. Now all I have is stickers. Where did they go?
I’m getting fed up with upgrading and losing lots and not apparently gaining anything. I want my avatar emojis back!
I lost all of my emojis and custom emojis after uploading IOS 17. The double tap on the up arrow to lock in caps no longer works and I wish I had not updated… this new update stinks

Did you read the Apple Recommended post above? Your emoji's are most assuredly still there. They've just been relocated.
Tap the + button. Then stickers. The tap the round circle with 3 dots in it. Then New Emoji.
