This is not unusual for the first few days after a software update. Loading the new version and showing you a working device is only the first step, there are a whole load of behind-the-scenes processes to clean up the old system files and reindex the file system. Expect normal battery life to resume after a day or two.
Same battery issue, prior to watchOS 10. Currently I’m lucky if I get 12 hours of charge. I have never had an issue with my watch going dead/turning off in a normal day. Something needs to be done asap. Apple Watch Series 6
My apple watch is < 1 year old. After i installed the update 10.1, the battery only lasts 3 hours. @apple are you going to do anything about it? I tried resetting, turning off all background refresh and only tap to wake it. It is still not helping.
Mine fixed with an update and was back to normal for a couple weeks but now is terrible again. I had a 93% charge and started playing a song to my AirPods. I then started a cardio workout. Before the song was over my watch crashed and rebooted and suddenly had only 10 percent and forced into low power mode.
While the first couple options of resetting and re-pairing are reasonable, the rest of the options are unacceptable. I do not want to remove widgets or turn of location service. Those have worked just fine for several years and are the main reasons for having an Apple Watch.
Same for my 6. Long day would hit the charger at 30-40% around 11pm, then a few days ago after an update it’s now dead by 7 or 8pm. They need to fix this.
Apple watch 8 after update to Watch OS 10 getting round 9 hours versus about 16 hours with no change is hits or usage. Hope this fixes itself or Apple fixes very soon.
Same here. Barely lasts 9 hrs compared to 16-18 hrs before the update. Series 7.
My Apple Watch Ultra would get through 36 hours no problem. Now it barely makes it 24. I have had the update for a few weeks now. I wish that I had not updated it.
After several charge and use cycles my Watch 8 is getting about 15+ hours and I use it extensively for hour plus activities, primarily biking, many days.
Same issue, prior to watchOS 10 my average battery life was between 20 to 26 hours. Currently I’m lucky if I get eight hours of charge.
Apple Watch se battery draining fast version 10.0.1 draining very fast please new updates 100 to 0. only 7 hours battery maximum 100%
Issue is worse with watchOS 10.1 update drains my series 6 battery in under 2 hours.
updated to 10.1 and my Ultra will not even make it through the night. Chatting with Apple help wasn’t any helpful either.
10.1 is way worse. My SE was down to 18% by 11a, recharged it to full, and now it’s back down to 16% not even 3 hours later! I haven’t even been doing workouts or anything! This is absurd.
Totally agree! Until they can put out a patch with a fix my watch is pretty useless to me. Series 7
