Memojis disappeared after iOS 17 upgrade

I have the same problem, and I am on 17.1.1. I have tried all the recommendations listed, none of which works!

If this is another Apple glitch, hope they fix it fast. If it is on purpose, that's just not good!

I had great face emojis of me now since loading 17.1.1 they have gone . Followed instructions to reset keyboard etc nothing changes and gives me them back. i loved them 🥲🥲🥲 this is one I photographed

Thanks for your solution which I am trying to use. I have pressed the smiley face and it now shows stickers and frequently used but I cannot see the half basketball in the bottom right. I have bar at the bottom which starts with a clock face and ends with a flag. Can you offer some help please.

Since update Apple made on my iPhone 12, I do not have poses of my Memoji that I can choose from like I did before. 😒. I don’t want to make an expression live for my Memoji every time I use it! Anyone have any issues with this, too?

What I am really looking for is the ability to send a voice recording using my Memoji . Before the update it was on the bar below in between the audio icon and the sticker icon. Still there on one of my iPads that apparently hasn't been updated to IOS17 yet though the auto update button is on.

Yup, that answer was given 24 pages ago. And on pretty much every page since. I have no faith that people are any more likely to pay attention to it now than when I first posted it on September 21.

Thanks! That finally worked. I’ll add that once you choose stickers, across the top, you choose which type of stickers. When you go to Memoji, all of the images are there, not just the one where you can record just the facial movement one in the other section.

You sound Hurt. The update came for “ME” a couple days ago as I assume it did for the others who are “just now” asking about it so your 24 days ago September 21st post on this issue where you proudly posted the answer 1st understandably has gone unnoticed. Who’s going back 24 pages? Your faith should be lost in the algorithm that doesn’t direct us who are “now” looking for the answer to your post. Lots of people know what a square root is and the explanation is in millions of books around the world but the fact is champ, if you don’t know where to find the book and no one points it out to you then you’re gonna go around asking people over and over what it is until it’s eventually put right in front of your face. You may have answered the question but if we never see it then it doesn’t help us. The more the correct answer gets posted the better the chances people will run across it. I have 9 replies right now that I’ll post that same answer to and hopefully it’ll get out there. It’s just how this thing works Champ. Appreciate it though. Hopefully more people will see your solution….

Glad it helped. Now , I also need a favor. Could you re-post a version of that answer? I just got a notification from Apple saying they struck down the post because I posted the same info. more than once. Multiple people had the same problem so I copy-pasted the answer to a couple more people (literally 2😂) and they blocked me after that. Crazy. I’d appreciate it and hopefully everyone runs across the solution because it’s so annoying. Thanks in advance champ….

Not what I was looking for. Yes, I found my memojis under stickers, but it’s not what I’m looking for. I guess what I’m looking for is my avatar (see attachment). Are these different from Memojis? You used to be able to add them in text, they are still available on Facebook but gone on text. 🤷‍♀️

OMG I’ve NEVER seen that. That’s nice. I’d be HOT too if I lost those. Don’t know how to get those back. Wish I did. If you ever do figure it out post on how to do it. I’d like to know. I’m a dinosaur I guess🤷🏾

Or, Apple takes a process that confused and annoyed most people and moved it out of the way. Sadly, Apple can't please everyone all of the time.

The same happened for me. I got them back for my I messages but not for when I text on my whattsapp. They were there before. How do I get them back on whattsapp??? So frustrating. They were there before.

The latest iOS and Apple Watch updates are simply horrible. I have postponed upgrades to iPhone and Apple Watch as a result. I spent 2 hours online just to get basic features readable on the AppleWatch. I am going to wait to see what Apple does to fix this horror story … suspect they will do nothing! Looking elsewhere!
