Memojis disappeared after iOS 17 upgrade

Try this. Go to messages, open a new text, go to the +, click on the +, pick Stickers, and see if your memojies are there.

I found mine! I hope you can find yours!

start new message, touch plus sign left of message window and the icons show up, instead of all showing like before.

tap the + (to the left of the text box), choose “Stickers”, tap on the icon with the multiple people….or the girl’s head….and there they are!

Sorry. I replied but forgot a step. Tap the plus sign to the left of your chat message area & then click on stickers. That’s where I found my Memojis & emojis.

tap on the plus to the left

tap on “Stickers”

tap on the “people” icon (the 5th from the left)

Some cosmic force seemed to cause some Apple iMessage mini-apps to appear to some, but not to others when we tapped the + to the left of the text entry field after we updated to iOS 17.0, but they all did appear to most of us when we did the 17.0.1 update.

Click on the + next to the text box

Click on “Stickers.” If it’s not there, click on “More” and it should be there.

You will see your memoji stickers as one of the icons. If it’s not right next to the emoji icon, just scroll to the right, it should be there.

I really think this problem varies with the model. But, if you open a new message and have a plus sign to the left of the subject window, hit that and press the stickers option. It may be buried in there. Scroll across the options below the subject/message box.

Did you read the previous texts? It may vary by iPhone model but I was able to find mine on my old SE second generation.

I opened the message app. To the left of the dialogue box there is a (+) sign. Hit it and scroll to stickers. At the box is a horizontal line of options. If you scroll across, you should see the emoji symbol. When you click it, it should bring them up. Hope this helps.

They are gone in my 17.1.1 update. I don't see where I can access Photo Library while in iMessages either.

Thanks for the information to go to the plus sign next to the text box. Besides emojis, it lists the other things I was looking for.

I was relieved to see that this was an issue for so many and that I wasn’t losing my mind or eyesight. With help of threads was able to find my MeEmojis. Start a new text to yourself. Hit plus sign to left of white box that you type text message in and then hit sticker and edit or done. If do not see emoji find one first and after first time it will save in history when hit sticker. Slower but works

It took me 15 minutes to figure out how to get to my Memojis. They had disappeared after the upgrade. Since I use them a lot and update it frequently, I wanted to see the changes. Open a new or old message. You should see frequently used stickers. To the right bottom there should be a circle with a folded corner, double tap it and a menu should appear above it. Scroll to the left and the Memoji icon should appear. Click on it and all your Memoji expressions should appear. Hopes this helps.

If you have updated to iOS 17, the plus sign is next to the text entry box.
