Alarm not vibrating in standby mode (iOS17)

I have an iPhone 14 Pro that I use as my alarm to wakeup in the morning. Traditionally, I leave the sound off for the alarm and use the noise of the vibrate to wake me up. I tried this using the standby mode (where you turn it horizontal and it does the cool night vision thing) but now my phone doesn't vibrate any more. If i turn it back vertical and set an alarm, it will.

Any thoughts on how to get it to behave the same in both modes?

I spoke with a Senior Support Specialist on the phone today and they said it's supposed to behave this way. When in normal mode and alarm will make the phone vibrate. When in standby, it will not. It seems like odd behavior that the alarm would function differently in the two modes (and not well documented). And, beyond that, it seems counterintuitive that it would behave that way since there was a lot of focus on using standby as a bedside clock in the iOS17 reveal (showing how it transitions to red, automatically dims, etc.).

Hopefully this gets changed soon, as it is standby is useless at night since it turns of my wake up alarm.

I have the same issue. I have been using alarm in only vibration to wake up since 2010. I like the idea of standby mode but if the sound is on alarm works but never vibrates. So on silent mode nothing happens except tiny screen notification. I don’t get the reason behind. So since I was late to office on next day of update to 17 I don’t turn standby mode on unfortunately. Looking forward to have a fix soon.
