iPhone lagging and slow after iOS 17 Update

My IPhone 13 has been considerably slower ever since I updated it to ios 17.

Its never been this way in ios 16!

while using safari, I am witnessing frame drops. My keyboard is not smooth. While check for background apps, It’s stuttering and the app overall scroll seems very sluggish and lots of frame drops.

i have more than 50Gb storage space available and my battery capacity is still above 80%.

Even while typing this, My keyboard seems sooooo sluggish!

please help me and suggest me some useful tips to resolve this apart from the usual force restart and all fixes!

Consider the Pixel. You might not want to trade one troubled ecosystem (Apple) for another (Samsung - all Android native spps have been replaced by Samsung apps... photos, mail, Bixby, etc.) I had bought a Samsung Galaxy tablet and it pales in comparison to the iPad. I won't give that up. Note: there is ZERO way to easily buy music on Android. Streaming apps are all there is - no iTunes for Android either without 3rd party synch tools. This is my sticking point. I still buy my music - but iTunes support for Windows users is non-existent as per Apple Care support. They actually told me there are no Windows support people. So just some info to Google around. Maybe buy an inexpensive Galaxy Tab to get your feet wet in the Android sea. I got mine from Swappa.

I use T-Mobil and noticed the slow-slow-down too. I have got around it by using only cellular with wifi off or when at home I get fast results with wifi with cellular off. Right now I am only using cellular and seem to be only missing some iphone sounds and notifications. All my apps are opening quickly where, before with both on I was just giving up.

Same; phone dying at 15-20% now.. screen stuttering. Lagging everywhere , opening apps/typing lagging, constant screen lag. Wasn’t like this before. Maybe stop sending universal updates for all iPhones? We know you’re making the new updates on the newest iPhone; without thought for the older ones. Not buying the new iPhone either. Will look for alternative.

I was advised to:

(1) Reset the dictionary back to the default (for me, that is just English)

(2) Make sure all apps are turned off

(3) Restart the phone

(4) Test the lag whether still happening

(5) Add back dictionaries needed.

It seemed to work for me thereafter.

Additional step suggested was to turn off the Predictive text in Keyboard as part of the above, then add it back in after restarting the phone. )

I did a factory restore after backing up (encrypted) to Mac.

All issues gone.

These 2 steps are highly recommended.

finally traded in my iPhone 13 mini for a 15 pro... which was likely rewarding bad behavior from Apple.

VERY, VERY slow. iCal would not sync. Press iCal inbox and wait 3 minutes to start. accept a meeting request on MAC and restarts iCal on iPhone.

iOS 17.1, 17.2 and 17.2.1 killed my iCal, phone and Safari... all apple apps.

man, I miss Steve!

Well, i guess im not the only one after all , after updating to 17.2 , my ping was terrible in fps games i played on my tablet , aswell as the search times on my phone , ping levels went from below 100 to over 300 , on my iphone (11) , the typing itself was sluggish and most of the time searching takes over minutes for some simple answers i needed..
