iPhone lagging and slow after iOS 17 Update

Since I updated to iOS 17 the phone got choppy and laggy if you have an iPhone 13 don’t update !!!

will apple solve this issue ? I updated yesterday again with the vers 17.03 and now is even more laggy than before …

I wish I would have checked this out before updating my 13 pro max. It is super choppy, and makes me feel like I’m running off an iPhone 3. 😭 It is HORRIBLE, please fix this issue.

I have an iphone 14pro and after updating to iOS version 17.03, it’s been so choppy and laggy. Also, when connecting to my carplay, my phone calls are off. People are getting cut off or not hearing me. Never had this issue until this update. My battery is good, have plenty of storage, and so on. Please advise!

IOS 17 is TERRIBLE to say the least! I have iphone 12 and it is running like an iphone 3! Super SUPER laggy no smoothness whatsoever switching between apps.. even the keyboard is extremely laggy im furious and decided to switch to android this is extremely frustrated to say the least.

I have the same issues, not only on an iPhone 13 but on a wi-fi iPad Air 5. Both were running perfectly on ios 16 but one of the ios 17 updates has caused freezing, slow updates and poor performance on both. they both have plenty of storage (96GB free on the phone and 142Gb on the iPad. If Apple won’t fix the problem then why don’t they resign iOS16 so people can downgrade. It’s pretty bad when you spend the kind of money that iPhones and iPads cost and then get poor performance due to the software.

I have the same problems particularly after charging. Slow keyboard, excessive power drain, slow or unresponsive Home Screen, Apps or iPhone crashing. Apple needs to engineer a fix. It seems the latest updates have nearly rendered my iPhone 13 unusable!!!! Definitely disappointed with Apple.

You are absolutely correct! My iPhone 13 Pro Max with iOS 15, 16, and 17 has been the worst Apple experience I have ever had. The camera module was replaced - fixed nothing. The whole phone was replaced last August - fixed nothing and THEY FORCED ME TO NOT RESTOTE FROM BACKUP to troubleshoot. Now with iOS 17, scrolling stutters, apps struggle to perform, three touch screen didn't always respond, and I have more than 100GB free on my 256GB. I just had my 2nd gen Airpods replaced under AppleCare as they don't always connect. I hard power off 2-3 times a day...nothing helps! AppleCare is a joke and they only want you to reset the phone. I have 28 apps using face security to unlock and several authenticator apps that ALL have to be set up again after a reset. It takes weeks to get my phone AND APPLE WATCH usuable again. And forget about all this switches, settings, app data not part of iCloud - Adobe Reader for example - that are LOST WITH A FACTORY RESET. After more than 10 years of iPhone, looking very hard at the alternative.

My 12pro feels better after installing 17.3 yesterday, hasn‘t gone blazing hot once… Hope the update fixed it. Please let this never happen again, up until now I really liked Apple for the robust updates (on phones)

17.3.1 is horrible!!! My iPhone 11pro was working just fine before. Now it is slow, notes app even worse which I need daily. Cropping and adding the filter to scanned pages is much more complicated than before. I’m so annoyed with this update I’m willing to go to the dark side and try an android.

Same experience with my iPhone XR. There is clearly some poor coding going on with iOS 17.4 or maybe deliberate action to force new device adoption. Up until this update I had no issues with the device and now simple actions are lagging even just swiping up to switch between apps.

I am a long time iPhone user and have optimized device fully and always clear my cache and perform force restart after updates. This is clearly on Apple and all we can do now is await minor update to resolve, that is if they intend to…

My wife and I have iPhone 13 running on 17.4.1 and have no problems at all.. everything is nice.. my niece has iPhone 12 same ios version as I and her phone is very laggy.. however, I would have to pop by her place to check if it’s not bloated with apps, bg apps, cache, etc :)
