iPhone lagging and slow after iOS 17 Update

My IPhone 13 has been considerably slower ever since I updated it to ios 17.

Its never been this way in ios 16!

while using safari, I am witnessing frame drops. My keyboard is not smooth. While check for background apps, It’s stuttering and the app overall scroll seems very sluggish and lots of frame drops.

i have more than 50Gb storage space available and my battery capacity is still above 80%.

Even while typing this, My keyboard seems sooooo sluggish!

please help me and suggest me some useful tips to resolve this apart from the usual force restart and all fixes!

I was advised to:

(1) Reset the dictionary back to the default (for me, that is just English)

(2) Make sure all apps are turned off

(3) Restart the phone

(4) Test the lag whether still happening

(5) Add back dictionaries needed.

It seemed to work for me thereafter.

Additional step suggested was to turn off the Predictive text in Keyboard as part of the above, then add it back in after restarting the phone.

I don’t use 17.0.x, but all 17.x very laggy and buggy then 16.x on my iPhone 13. Now I use iOS 17.4.1 and all bugs and slow down performance here. I am do DFU recovery without reserve copy 3 times. It’s planned obsolescence 100%.

Nothing has changed since the release of 17.1, my iPhone 13 is still lagging and buggy even on the latest version 17.5.1. This is absolutely not normal, because the device worked super smoothly on iOS 16.5-16.6. This all suggests that Apple is doing this intentionally so that we purchase new devices

Don't you notice it's strange that a device with a high-performance CPU suddenly became very buggy after the update? It would be fine if it became like this after years of use, it's clear there, applications are growing, their hardware requirements are increasing, but here it's simple, I downloaded a small update that didn't change anything and that's it, my $700 phone started working like a $100 phone. Apple has top-level software! I'll switch to Android in the fall, I couldn't stand it.

I've watched other iPhones with iOS 17 installed, they all slow down and lag, just like mine, and the only crutch solution to all this is to turn off auto brightness in the settings and then reboot. I spoke with Apple support, they confirmed that this is a global problem and that I am not the only one who is facing it and they do not know exactly when it will be solved. Just the highest level of software from a large world company.

I also went to the service center, where the specialists did not identify any problems with the hardware and said that the reason for the poor performance was a problem in the software. I am still very much amazed that Apple has not been able to do anything about it for almost a year.

my iPhone 13 is on 17.1 now and still very laggy, frame dropping and no smoothness at all.

whatsapp is always bugging.

power button to end calls not functioning as usual !! Not as i’ used to.

my apps and ios is always up to date

since ios 17 and i hate my phone. I hoped 17.1 will fix it but noooo

hopefully upcoming updates they focus more on optimizing iPhones other than their disaster of an iPhone 15s

My phone is used largely for work and have been having many issues regarding messaging app being slow and oftentimes enlarging and freezing until I force close as well as other steps back in the QOL dept. Tried powering off and full reset to no avail. I only switched over to apple due to the ecosystem and apparent convenience in cohesion with work. This update has made me question that decision.
