iPhone lagging and slow after iOS 17 Update

It has been so bad that I have to almost reboot it every day. What a shame to see the quality of IOS going down this path. Same issue, excessive battery drain, heating issue while phone is idle, etc etc.

I m also facing similar kind of problem post updating to ios 17 on my 13. iOS 16 never give a frame drop while playing while supprisingly now not only considerably frame drop but also screen pauses for a 2 sec and resumes after in a continues manner

Same issue, it's absolutely horrible and i don't believe for a second that it's legitimate, i think they're deliberately lagging the 13 mini to force you to upgrade to a 14 or 15, it's sickening and i'm about done with Apple over stuff like this.

Android users can keep using their smartphones for 5, 6 or even 7 years up to date without a problem, i buy a brand new iPhone and 2 years later it already doesn't work.

Apple could fix this overnight by simply allowing you to downgrade back to an older version. Updates that brick devices are amateur level budgetphone QA, not what i expect from a company that sells premium devices, especially when you don't give us an option to downgrade again.

I already tried resetting it twice through iTunes, no results, it just keeps lagging, opening Safari takes a full minute, sometimes it just freezes when trying to open a page... it's crazy

I have iPhone 13, and I am having the same exact issue and I have over 100GB available. This is very annoying. This is most annoying when I go into my notes & I try to search something. It takes forever and then brings me to a different area in the note, not what I searched.

same issue with my iphone 12. Specially the whatsapp lags a lot including the search bar. Apple I need the ios 16 back in my phone. If there are so much bugs in IOS 17 then you guys just rollback to ios 16 and fix all the issues first then only launch it otherwise don’t

They want that your alternative is the next model, the next iPhone...in your case, you have the 13 Pro Max, they want you to buy the 14 Pro Max...

I'll stay with this sh****t 14 Pro Max for a while, and next year move to another brand!

since I updated to iOS 17 1.1 my iPhone 13pro max has become very slow, it freezes constantly, the games have become terrible (constant lag). I was thinking of buying the iPhone 15 Pro Max, but after these problems I will sell my iPhone 13 Pro Max and will go back to using my iPhone 8, much faster and more efficient.

Consider the Pixel. You might not want to trade one troubled ecosystem (Apple) for another (Samsung - all Android native spps have been replaced by Samsung apps... photos, mail, Bixby, etc.) I had bought a Samsung Galaxy tablet and it pales in comparison to the iPad. I won't give that up. Note: there is ZERO way to easily buy music on Android. Streaming apps are all there is - no iTunes for Android either without 3rd party synch tools. This is my sticking point. I still buy my music - but iTunes support for Windows users is non-existent as per Apple Care support. They actually told me there are no Windows support people. So just some info to Google around. Maybe buy an inexpensive Galaxy Tab to get your feet wet in the Android sea. I got mine from Swappa.

Ugh mate my iPhone 14 just arrived brand new but the iOS update is messing up my smooth expectations. It’s choppy, laggy, slow and every other thing you would see when you try to play Fortnite on an hp laptop. Apple please may you fix this issue immediately.

Upgraded perfectly fine 13 pro w latest ios16 to 17.1.2 cause of scary stories of bug fixes and only available to ios17 but man do I regret this move!

Two days after indexing and whatever, phone feels and behaves like an iPhone 6s. I'll make an ig and YouTube video showing iphone 12 mini w ios 16 and 13 pro ios 17 how they open and switch apps... This is unacceptable and counter productive.

If ios17 has some hidden code to force use to buy latest product, I'll switch to android after using iPhone since 2007.

Wife has a Samsung s9 who knows how old but sprints apps opening and overall operation. This is unbelievable.

It's a BS Apple! Iphone 13 mini - the same issue. On latest ios16 this phone was perfect in every way. Small, easy to use with one hand, perfectly smooth and fast. I strongly regret upgrading to ios17. If future updates won't solve the problem I'm going to Samsung.

And yes - I did completly reset the phone, installed everything again, even not used a backup - completly fresh install - didn't solve anything.

Yeah this is definitely unacceptable, I have an iPhone 13 Pro 512 GB and it is extremely laggy, especially in iMessage and keyboard it's unbelievable.

I'll be typing something in two minutes later it finishes it, dictation does the same thing, and trying to select text and copy things is absolutely ridiculous, it's like having a 25-year-old phone but paying $1500 for it!

Whenever I update my iPhone, my iPhone consumes more battery than the previous version. Battery life decreases with every update

Also this time my iPhone 11 became laggy and slower after updating to ios 17.2

this seems very un-apple like. ios 16 used to be very smooth on my iphone 13. i thought ios 17 would mature in a month or two and start feeling smoother but instead i see very frequent app crashes with linkedin. i have never been able to play call of duty mobile like i used to before upgrading to ios 17. it's funny that you switch from android expecting consistently high performance over time and then see the phone crash on linked.

This is why I don't upgrade iOS after 2 major updates from the iOS the phone came in the beginning. If you are using iPhone 12 (came with iOS 13) you should only go up to iOS 15 or 16. You are stretching your luck with iOS 17.

The stuttering can be seen if there's a slow-motion recording of both phones with iOS 13 vs iOS 17.
