Mapquest no longer loading on Chrome or Safari

Mapquest was working on my mac earlier this spring, then about a week ago it quit loading. I get "page is unresponsive" messages in both browsers. I'm running Big Sur 11.7.10. I just updated Chrome and Safari. Same thing is happening on my husband's mac. He's running Ventura 13.5.2. I've been corresponding with Mapquest tech and everything is fine on their end. We are not having any other issues with sites not loading. I don't have any extensions running in Chrome or Safari. Any idea what happened to cause this and how to fix it?

I think that effectively isolates the problem to the router. I doubt you need a new one, but you might try resetting it: unplug it, wait an arbitrary minute or two, plug it back in again, let it boot, test.

I agree experiencing trouble with just one website is odd. Another, but unlikely possibility is the ISP could have been having trouble with that website. They would need to effectively do the same thing with their equipment, which is obviously out of your hands. If the problem persists I'd contact them. They might have more suggestions, but at least you can confidently state your Macs aren't the problem — not if they load the website using a different Internet connection.

Thanks, John. I switched to my hotspot. Mapquest loaded correctly on Chrome and Safari. With the same windows open on both, I switched back to our home wifi, entered new directions and Mapquest still worked, which didn't make sense. I then tried opening new Mapquest windows on both Chrome and Safari on our home wifi. Mapquest loaded and worked correctly on Safari, but didn't load on Chrome. Oddly, as I mentioned, Mapquest loaded fine this spring and this is the only site I have found that isn't loading. Perhaps though we could benefit from a new router. ? (Not using a VPN.)

Again, thanks for your response and suggestions! I'd tried resetting the router, but that didn't change anything. I tried opening Mapquest in Safe Mode on Safari and Chrome, but it still didn't load. I'm waiting for a neighbor to get back to me-I asked her to try opening Mapquest on her mac-we live in a rural community and use the same ISP. Hoping that sheds some light... :)
