When I try to print the no printer selected is displayed, when I select the printer it starts to connect but the no printer selected comes back. There is a printer there and has worked previously, is this something because of an update?
There is a printer there but it does not pick it up, it was fine last week. Is this because of an update?

I read on another string that Norton's VPN may be the issue, blocking AirPrint on iPhone with IOS 17. I not only had to turn off the VPN, but also reboot the iPhone afterwards. Now able to AirPrint.
Notably, the Norton VPN does not block wireless printing from Windows laptop. :-(

Definitely an AirPrint issue with Norton 360 VPN and the latest IOS 17 upgrades when attempting to print from HP Office jet Pro 8600 from I Phone 15 Pro . With Norton 360 VPN disabled all is ok
Same issue after IOS 17 HP8600 won’t stay selected for print. Followed the suggestion and disabled Norton360 VPN and the issue was resolved.
I resolve this issue by turning off “Safe WEB under Internet Security” in Norton360. I retested by turning it back on and issue returned so I turned it off when I want to print

Turning off "Private WiFi Address" under your homes wifi settings helped me. Once I did that, my 14PM was able to locate my older Samsung WiFi printer
I'm running iOS 17.1.1 on an iPhone 14 and using an HP OfficeJet Pro 8020 with the latest firmware. When I disabled Private IP, the problem was resolved. However, when I re-enabled Private IP, the printer was still recognized but the printer reported it was no longer available when I attempted to print, even after disabling again. A subsequent iPhone reboot with Private IP resolved the issue. This serious problem was first reported 2 months ago. What is taking so long to fix it? Is AI writing Apple's software now?
How many complaints will this take before Apple responds with a fix??? This has been going on for at least 3 months! I just installed the brand new super-duper iOS 17.1.2 and still the same AirPrint issue.
With Norton 360 VPN turned on, I cannot print to either Brother wireless HL-2370DW or HL-L3230CDW, even though both have the most up-to-date firmware installed. Again, this is NOT a problem for wireless printing from my Windows laptop, which also has Norton 360 VPN installed, so this is NOT a Norton or Brother problem, but rather an APPLE PROBLEM!

Thank you for the information. As I wrote already September 22, there had been other reports about problems in connection with the iOS 17 upgrade. The power-cycle procedure (which often can help solving AirPrint device discovery difficulties) was merely a test here, but it does not appear to have made a difference in several cases. Additional things that have been suggested include checking that a VPN is not used and that the private Wi-Fi address feature is not on. It may be necessary to wait for yet another update.

Please have a look at earlier replies in this thread (3 pages). The issues seem to be related to iOS 17, but only in connection with certain printer models and/or firmware versions (or special settings). Returning to an older iOS version is not possible.
Same here, Dell E525w with latest firmware of 2019 and iOS 17 not possible to print. Windows 10 and 11 and also MacOS is still able to print but not iOS 17 devices.
edit: resetting the networksettings to factory on the iPhone worked for me - fine all SSIDs and known passwords are lost now.
I just had to update the firmware on my Canon MF260 and it worked fine. Just had to find the firmware update in the menu on the printer. You have to press the Menu button on the front of the printer, scroll to and select System Management, scroll to and select Update Firmware.
Gathering some possible solutions:
1) As always step one is power cycle the phone and the printer.
2) Update your printer Firmware. From posts this seems to work on some printers (Cannon, ??) but does not work on others (Dell, ??)
3) If you have Norton VPN on your phone, try turning off your Norton VPN, this is a work around for some people.
Problem solved on both iPads by massive help from Apple “techie” in Ireland. He removed Norton VPN completely and all worked immediately!
Ironically, Apple have yet again today released iOS 17.1??? How odd?
This was gold.. Canon MF240.. looked in setting to find ability update the firmware over the internet. Updated successfully and immediately started working in the house all using IOS 17.1 but on IPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 13, 11 Pro, 11 pro max
