When I try to print the no printer selected is displayed, when I select the printer it starts to connect but the no printer selected comes back. There is a printer there and has worked previously, is this something because of an update?
There is a printer there but it does not pick it up, it was fine last week. Is this because of an update?

I read on another string that Norton's VPN may be the issue, blocking AirPrint on iPhone with IOS 17. I not only had to turn off the VPN, but also reboot the iPhone afterwards. Now able to AirPrint.
Notably, the Norton VPN does not block wireless printing from Windows laptop. :-(
Yeah, this was totally something new that Apple evidently jacked up in iOS 17 and hasn't yet fixed, but I did a firmware update on my Canon MF260, and now it seems to work again.

after unsuccessfully trying every rational suggestion in the book, eg shut down network, printer etc and reboot in appropriate order - no joy!
out of frustration, selected another printer on the network, got same error message, then reselected the original printer - bingo - it works!
not sure what Apple has done in this update, but after switching nearly everything to Apple after years of being told how seamlessly devices connect and work as opposed to the mess that is the Windows operating system - it figures that I have a nearly unsolvable problem!!
Finally stumbled across this Gem. I updated the firmware on the D570 and all iOS devices can print again. I also noticed that my kids Chromebooks can also print now too. I had thought that it was a school restriction. Thanks @jonny-surfcity
I was having same problem. Printing from my iphone just fine and then the next day it wouldn’t print. I would select my printer and it would go back to select printer. I played around with it for about 45 min and finally went to settings and selected WiFi and then selected the information icon next to my wifi network name (the little circle with the i inside it). Then I went to bottom of screen and changed configure proxy to automatic and it started back printing

I had issue where it was keep saying no printer selected even printer was working with my windows pc. Reset network settings on the iPhone fixed issue for me.
Updated the firmware on Canon MF240. Issue fixed.
Had same issue. Updated the software on my Canon printer and problem now solved.
As suggested by some others, I updated the firmware on my printer (Canon MF260) and the updated printer is properly recognized and prints from my iPhone 15 running iOS 17.
I had the same issue. I have a canon m230. Power cycling the devices did not work. Updating the firmware on the printer solved the issue.
I spoke to a tech at apple. It turned out that my Norton 360 with VPN blocked all the printing. when I shut it off I was able to print. I hope that helps.
Updating the firmware on my Canon MF269dw fixed it for me. One of the other posts has instructions.
I too had this same problem until I turned off Morton VPN. Now my iPhone 13 Pro connects to my HO printer & prints my documents again. Thank you for the help.
I was experiencing the same trouble. Disconnecting my Norton VPN solved the problem for me.
My problem was solved by turning VPN off. There was a conflict between iOS 17 and printer selection.
