Can't select AirPrint Printer after iOS 17 Update

When I try to print the no printer selected is displayed, when I select the printer it starts to connect but the no printer selected comes back. There is a printer there and has worked previously, is this something because of an update?

There is a printer there but it does not pick it up, it was fine last week. Is this because of an update?

I read on another string that Norton's VPN may be the issue, blocking AirPrint on iPhone with IOS 17. I not only had to turn off the VPN, but also reboot the iPhone afterwards. Now able to AirPrint.

Notably, the Norton VPN does not block wireless printing from Windows laptop. :-(

We have the same issue.

My Wife’s brand new iPhone 15 pro with iOS 17.0.3 won’t airprint. Will see the printer then not connect.

My iPhone14 pro max on iOS 16.6.1 WILL airprint.

We tried powercycling everything. We don’t have VPN.

Interestingly our printer can create its own network to allow direct connection via wifi. My old iPhone 14 pro max still will print through this method, but as above- my wife’s new iPhone 15 pro will connect to the printer wifi, see the printer, but cannot connect to it to print .

Please fix this Apple!!

I am having the same problem after the iOS 17 l.1.2 update. I have an iphone SE 2020. Printer canonMF230 . I tried all the restarts as instructed several times, cannot print from my phone but can print from iPad that doesn’t have iOS 17. When I try to print the no printer selected is displayed, when I select the printer it starts to connect but the no printer selected comes back. My son is having the same problem from his phone iPhone 11 after same update. We are on same network/wifi with no vpn.

Yup, me too. I have two printers connected via WiFi on my phone, one of them works. Since updating to IOS 17+, I see the second printer in my printer list and when I select it, it comes back with “No Printer Selected” with some standard printer options appearing below, e.g., number of copies, layout, paper size, etc. Fortunately I have the one printer that does work. For now. What gives?

I'm having the same problem! And I only noticed after initiating the 17 update. I'm now on 17.0.3 and still all the pages come out blank. I'm able to connect to my brother MFC-L5850DW when attempting to print it shows up, connects and prints out a blank page every time. I do a lot of printing from my phone for my job and at home with HP I print fine. It must be a brother-apple issue. My mom has the exact same phone but hasn't updated hers since getting the phone earlier this year and she's still able to print at the office thankfully. Is there a way to undo to whatever it was before 17? I'm assuming some 16.0....? (iphone 14)

I agree and also don’t understand why this issue so many are experiencing has not been resolved.

I’ve got the issue with an HP 8600 Pro also with current drivers and have the same annoying issue.

This is definitely an Apple issue because only my IOS17 devices have the problem.

Let’s go Apple, please fix the issue

Same issue. When I try to print the no printer selected is displayed, when I select the printer (HP Officejet 5740) it starts to connect but the no printer selected comes back. This has worked previously. I also have a HP ENVY Photo 7855 printer that luckily is still working.

iPhone 15 Pro

iOS 17.1.1

HP Officejet 5740 printer.

It works ok with my HP ENVY Photo 7855

Same problem here

ios 17.x.x does not select the printer

(no method to downgrade or revert to older iOS which was working)

the same printer is working fine with older iOS devices that I have

Moreover, to solve this problem, why should i be required to connect to printer website through their app? My printer is working fine not connected to internet, it had been working fine with this device too, si why the feature has been removed (doesn’t look like a bug, because if it was, it would have been fixed with new version, or reverting to older versions should have been available)
