Restraint of trade is illegal. At least in the US; communists countries run themselves in their way. Apple lacks the authority to make any private owner bend to their will or whim.
Dp you really want a vendor from which you buy anything to regulate how you dispose of it? I don't; I believe my private property is mine to deal with as I believe so long as I don't break any laws.
