Cannot switch Apple Watch faces after 10.0.1 update

Since updating my Series 7 watch, I am unable to swipe left or right to access other saved watch faces. Anyone else experience the same problem and/or know how to resolve?

thanks!

This is a user-to-user support forum. Apple's participation is largely limited to make sure people stick to the rules. Apple doesn't read here for feedback or suggestions. They do, however, provide a dedicated feedback portal:

I have a similar issue with my Apple Watch Series 7 since upgrading to watchOS 10.0. Had contacted Apple Support who could not solve it either. However, on pairing the watch with a different iPhone connected to a different iCloud account solved the issue.

Prima facie, it appears to have something to do with my Apple Watch backups on iCloud but don’t know the root cause yet or the resolution. Deleting some old Apple Watch backups from iCloud had temporarily caused some of the new watch faces to reappear and since then it has been a game of hide and seek with watch faces for me.

My wife returned her new Apple Watch (which only works on WatchOS 10) after realizing that she couldn't swipe left / right. She and I are not updating to WatchOS 10 because of this specific reason.

I understand Apple is trying to address the accidental swipe problem, but many others actually see this easy swipe-left/right as a nice feature. At least give users the ability to choose either option, please.

This is NOT how you’re supposed to switch between faces. It is a glitch. Everyone needs to report so they fix it faster.

It was an intentional change on Apple's part. How you're "supposed to switch between faces" is however Apple decides. The fact that you don't like it doesn't make it a glitch. If enough people give feedback to Apple, they may change their minds and make another, intentional change.
