iPhone 15 Pro not charging

Brand new right out of the box (No damage or foreign objects in charging port) I just updated it and transferred my data from my iPhone 12 and none of my cables or charging boxes / PC will charge my phone.. But when its off if I plug it in it will turn the phone on but still not charge. My wireless charger will charge it and Yes tried different charging cables, force reset, checked for any debris in the charging port.. Basically everything they told me to do to troubleshoot it..

The fix that worked for me was turning off optimized battery charging and clean energy charging, also use usb c cable not MagSafe. And if your phone is a little warm you should cool it down with something. For me holding it in front of an ac vent in a car worked.

the issue is the phone thinks it overheating and refuses to accept a charge.

let me know if this works for you aswell

Same thing happened to my wife’s phone. Brand new iPhone 15 Pro, pre-ordered and received on launch day, and didn’t notice any obvious issue the first couple of days. It’s been charging when connected to CarPlay, but tonight she plugged it in and it isn’t charging in the house. Charger is an Anker 20W Nano with the cable from the iPhone 15 box. Also tried using an Apple 20W iPad Pro charging plug with the original Apple cable, but still nothing. She is driving home from out of town tomorrow, so just keeping fingers crossed that in-car charging still works. She doesn’t have a MagSafe charger to try, but I can test that when she gets home.

So far, I haven’t experienced the same issue with my iPhone 15 Pro received on the same day. I do charge mostly with MagSafe, but I’ve used it several times with the regular charger (identical Anker 20W plug) and I tried it just now to confirm that it’s still working.

My new 15Pro phone charges in my car using these little gray adaptors we bought on Amazon (usb to c)…I only have a USB receptacle in the car. It charges to 100%. The phone also charges to 100% in my house while using the OLD wireless charging pad although I have to position the phone just right to get it to charge. BUT when I use the new MagSafe Charger and plug it into an outlet using that same little silver adaptor as I use in the car but now it’s plugged into my old little Apple block, it either stops charging within minutes or maxes out at 65%. Frustrating. Now I’m trying my husbands iPad Pro charging block and plugging the USC end of the MagSafe charger into that block, it is charging continuously and quickly. So I’m thinking the smaller Apple blocks are not transferring enough power through the MagSafe charger? Is anyone else seeing this problem?

Me too

worked fine for two weeks using Anker brick with 20 and 45w output and supplied cable as well as my own - then nothing - no response on iPhone.

Luckily I read this post and tried charging with my MacBook Pro and hey presto it works.

Not impressed - on holiday for next week so need to lug laptop around then it goes back to Apple Store for explanation or money back.

I have Samsung 65W trio charger brick, iphone 15 pro charging works fine on 65w usb-c (usb-c1) port. When I plug it to 25w (usb-c2 port) charging does not even start. It starts once I switch phone off. However if I reconnect usb from phone and put it back, charging does not continue.

Then I have usb-c 45w samsung brick with 1 usb-c port as well as o2 45w usb-c brick and both work with no issues. Only 25w port on Samsung Trio 65w charger doesnt work properly. My wife’s Galaxy S21 works on all ports.

I just had a similar problem with my 15 plus. Brand new charger, and I only just brought the charging brick from the apple website a few weeks before. Both were working fine until it just suddenly stopped. I tried various methods but none seemed to succeed until I switched my cable to my mums charging brick (which is the exact same as mine) and mysteriously it started charging. So then I thought maybe my brick was faulty.

After about 5 mins, I had the idea to try my brick one last time, so I wasn’t just uselessly spending money on a new one, and stupidly, it started working again????

clearly there’s a fault somewhere with apple devices recently. 😭😭

Everything for me was fine UNTIL I GOT AN AMAZON ECHO AND DOWNLOADED THE ALEXA APP TO MY IPHONE 15!!! It stopped charging IMMEDIATELY. I unplugged and plugged the charger back in and tried everything over and over. It started charging again. I plugged it in overnight and it was charging when I went to sleep but when I woke up, my battery was in the red with only 11% left!!! I was panicking because of the battery died and it wouldn’t charge, I would be so screwed! I actually restarted the iPhone and it immediately started charging. I have no doubt at all that the Alexa app and other Google products caused this to happen and I have always avoided using Google products on my iPhone bc of the contention between these 2 companies…I really believe that Google products downloaded to Apple products and vice versa, they insert bugs or spyware that after downloaded to our personal devices, go to work and use our devices to try to get secrets for each company…my distrust of Google is much greater than Apple!!!

I’m getting the same issue in my Citroen and I rely on car play so I can use my phone while CarPlay does the maps and plays the audio from the phone

Brand new 15 Pro

After the forced reset and turning optimisation to None it worked then next morning didn’t

I have brand new leads and one of them is a short 0.5m one

In the van the short one works

The 2m ones of the same brand that work fine with my charging brick don’t

And I don’t get any messages up on the phone

Driving me insane

Not acceptable

I had this problem in my Citroen van

After forced reset and turning off battery optimisation it connected and charged

Next day it didn’t

But then my new 0.5m cable did work, but the same brand of 2m did not

I bought a Belkin 1m cable and it works

I turned battery optimisation back on and reconnected and it still works

But I expect it might not tomorrow with this setting on and if so I will report back
