iPhone 15 overheating

Hi everyone. I’ve recently purchased the new iPhone 15 pro max and it is heating up even when I’m not using it.

I was wondering if anyone else is having this issue or if it maybe a setting that is causing it that I can turn off?

Any advice is appreciated. :)

For all of you:

Do a simple Forced Restart on your new iPhone by:

  • Press and quickly release the volume up button
  • Then immediately press and quickly release the volume down button
  • Then immediately press and KEEP HOLDING the side power button and KEEP HOLDING it past the swipe to shut down and KEEP HOLDING it until the Apple Logo appears, then let go

Sign back in with your passcode when the phone prompt you and let the phone settle down over the next couple days. If you transferred a LOT of data, it can days for the indexing process to complete. There is likely NOTHING wrong with your phones.

And what's your point exactly. You do realize millions upon millions of iPhone 15 models are in the hands of people all around the world. Not everyone has a heating issue. Apple even said the heating issue doesn't effect everyone. No one I know with a 15 Pro is having heating issues. But that doesn't mean there are some who do and if you think I suggested no one does, you're just wrong.

And BTW, I'm not the only one in this lengthy thread who has said their 15 Pro doesn't overheat. There are others out there. So again, what is your point exactly?

2885 people over 26 million iphone 14 pro max and 21 million iphone 14 pro equals to 47 million sold last year suppose this year as pre order is less like 1/4 of 47 milion? or maybe 1/12 of 47 million? I don't know how many iphones 15 have been sold till now, anyone knows? Anyway it'd be 1 iphone in 5000 or for the worst scenario 1 iphone in 1500. But maybe I've calculated it wrong maybe hasn't to be considered the iphones sold but the iphones produced...more likely so it'd be much less. You have a 1/1000 chance of being hit by a bus when crossing the street, I've just googled it hopefully it's true

Wow just paid Apple $1800. These guys are brilliant are marketing but horrible are delivering quality product. I hope the phone wont blast! I am sure they will come up with some software that will reduce the processing power of the new chip, make it run like iphone 14 speed to avoid over heating. So we pay for iphone 15 but we get iphone 14. LOL!

and why is the back side glass cracking? cheap material!

Well actually millions from around the word do use this forum. But the reality is people who don't have an issue, rarely hang out on a forum saying how happy they are with whatever they bought. They're just out in the world enjoying their product. The people who post on forums, are most often either confused about something and need help, or they're gruntled and want to vent. Or of course to see if anyone else is experiencing what they are.

Given this is the most visited forum for all things Apple in the world, one would expect this forum to have even more posts from people if this issue affected everyone.

This is ridiculous, this thread is called "iPhone 15 overheating", and it seems that 2897 people who have declared on this forum that they have heating and/or overheating problems have to defending themselves from other forum members those who decide within this thread if your problem is real or not, and if this is not enough, there are also some people calling 2897 people trolls... please take a breath and think a second...your behavior with the rest of people we are claiming to have issues is being unfair and unpolite.

All of us who are in this forum like Apple phones, that's why all of us have bought them as soon as they came onto the market, and surely we would all have loved not to have heating problems, but it is a fact that the problem exists, Let's hope Apple fixes it...

TBH, I never had the overheating issue on my 15 Pro, and never implied otherwise on this thread. The only heat issue that I've had over the past 10 days was the phone getting "warm" occasionally, which isn't a problem.

However, my battery life is still bad. I get around 4:45 on-screen time which is worse than my 4 years old 11 pro max with around 81% battery health. I hope the fix Apple is going to release improves battery life too.

Yep…. I had done it a couple of times and then the apple rep. asked me to do that before age tried to perform the analytics and improvement testing on phone, that also failed. She told me to give it a few days but I am concerned it is going to burn up in the meantime.

Thanks for your help!

It's most unlikely your phone will burn up. Give it some time.

Just because someone is not happy with this new iPhone doesn't mean they are moving to Android/Nokia/others. Most of us are already iPhone users and just sticking with our existing model until Apple fixes this. I returned my 15Pro as the heating issues never went away and am back to using my 12Pro. STOP judging people who are having issues. If you don't have a solution you don't have to comment.
