Unknown Part Unable to determine if your iPhone camera is a genuine Apple part.

I own a iPhone 13 pro, nerve get any repair but one day i received a notification about my camera "Unknown Part

Unable to determine if your iPhone camera is a genuine Apple part. This could be because the part is non-genuine or not functioning as expected, or the installation is incomplete." Can anyone please help and I also wanted to say that Apple is just playing with our money. Apple don't care about any of these issues

Same thing is happening to me and not only with the camera but battery and display too , the phone is NEW it has never been repaired.

If you are seeing that and you've never had anything replaced, it would indicate a hardware issue. You should contact Apple and have them run diagnostics.

I can’t see the battery health and that’s important to know.

No, really it's not. Maximum capacity tells you nothing actionable. The only times you need to look at it are if your phone isn't running correctly or if you're near the end of your warranty. In your case, you already know there is a problem with your phone. And, if the phone is new, it's still under warranty.

This happened to my iPhone 13 pro a while ago too. The settings said the camera was not a genuine part, the wide lens function was not working, and I can only zoom up to 5x. I thought it was a hardware problem so I went to a genius bar and they fixed the camera for me, which I paid a lot of money for. It was functional for about 4 months before it happened again. It’s so annoying when I have to spend extra money when it’s an issue created by Apple.

The function most certainly IS affected by this message. Loads and loads of people reporting the same error message + functionality issues (wide angle lens setting MIA, screen goes black and freezes in camera app, etc). You’re clearly not actually having the issue so your input is wildly unproductive.

Has no solution really been rolled out by Apple, seems it’s been over a year without solution?

Update: after the 17.3 update the error for the “important camera message” went away and my phone took great pictures from what little I used it. But within 18 hours the camera portion of my phone is now either black or immediately freezes on an image as soon as you open the camera feature. This is actually worse now than before. Time lapse, slo-mo, video, portrait and pano all work great.

I’ve had my 13pro since Feb 2022 and till this day I still have that “unknown camera part” msg even after all updates since then. I tried to trade in my phone with not other damage or issues other than that and I can’t bc of it. How Apple get away with distributing products with faulty software is beyond me, a $1500 phone worth now nothing bc of that. Unbelievable.

It''s not faulty software. You have hardware that needs to be repaired.

just the fact that you like to add that Apple is playing with our money, really drops you on the, serious scale of this situation, because you seem more like a whiner instead of somebody who actually wants help. maybe instead of going into conspiracy theory mode, you might want to put into account that you got a bad phone and you should probably return it. Or at least take it to Apple repair. Why does everybody going to conspiracy theory mode, and automatically think Apple is the new devil. you guys really need a reality check

I have encountered with my iPhone 13 Pro following the update to iOS 17.4.1. Specifically, I have experienced persistent problems with the 0.5 lens. Based on my research, it appears that the mechanical stabilization feature of this lens may fail, particularly for users who frequently travel, ride motorcycles, or occasionally drop their phone.

My iPhone has never undergone any repairs, yet I was quoted approximately $400 by Apple Care for the necessary fix. Given the nature of this issue, I believe it warrants a recall from Apple. This situation reminds me of the 2016 MacBook Pro screen cable issue, which also resulted in a widespread recall due to a similar defect.

Apple has marketed the iPhone 13 Pro as a durable device capable of withstanding harsh conditions, including being mounted on a vehicle traversing rough terrain. However, my experience suggests otherwise, raising questions about the device’s advertised durability.

Unfortunately, the trade-in option is not viable for my device, which has never been repaired but now has a non-genuine camera issue. Consequently, I am left with the difficult decision of either purchasing a new iPhone at a substantial cost or paying a significant amount to repair my current device.

I urge Apple to consider this matter seriously and explore potential solutions, to address this widespread issue. I look forward to your prompt response and a satisfactory resolution.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I hope this meets your expectations for a professional and compelling message - and will be posted.

I am having the same issue after the most recent update. It came out of nowhere as I was taking pictures. I did a reset and then a full factory reset and the issue still exist. I've never had any repairs done as it's never had any issues whatsoever.

This happened a few years back after an update that caused a significant battery drain. I have a love hate relationship with my apple phones.

this has happened to me as well on my 13 pro max I dropped my phone and the screen cracked but I still have apple care plus and I was told I could send it in since I am 2 hours from a store and the repair would only cost me shipping, so I sent it in its was over a week and I get an email saying we couldn’t repair because of modifications that have been made. I bought the phone straight from apple, haven’t had it jailbroken, never had any issues, never taken it apart, and never taken it to anyone to have anything done to it. Apple sends the phone back to me still broken and when I call the support center they say they cannot tell me what modifications have been made and they cannot contact the apple repair center directly to find out what they found. Now I have a note on my phone that says it’s been modified they told me I just needed to buy a new phone. Or I could send it in again or go two hours to a store to have them tell me the same thing. This is messed up on a different level that apple will not uphold their end of a bargain and fix or replace my phone that I paid full cash for and paid for the apple care:
