Apple Watch SE (2) not charging on third-party charger after 10.0.1 update

I had done the same but I was trying to use my Apple power block with my 3rd party wireless charging station.

My watch was being super weird - actually de-charging my watch, and if I were honest… my iPhone was acting weird, too. I did a lot of troubleshooting.

I read my station’s directions again and noticed they said to ONLY use the power supply block that came with the base.

Go figure! As soon as I swapped to the manufacturer’s block I was able to reliably charge.

So maybe it’s dumb to ask - but are you using the power supply block that came with your charger?

We'd like to let you know Apple just recently released watchOS 10.0.2 and recommend updating your Apple Watch and then test the charger.

Did you get to test charging with the Apple-branded charger?

Do you have access to a different third-party charger you can test?

If your Apple Watch still doesn't charge after updating, you will want to reach out to the manufacturer. Since third-party accessories create their products to work with Apple (and other companies), it would be the charger's brand name that would support their device.

If you still feel this is an issue with your Apple Watch, then you will want to reach out to Apple Support by going to Get Support. They will be able to look into this with you further.

So I'm replying to my own post to provide an update [Jan 26, 2024 12:11 PM] which may or may not help others. This was my problem and was corrected.

My charger block for my 3rd party charging base which was white - somehow got switched with an Apple white charging block.

I re-read the 3rd party base's documentation and it said I "needed" to use their charging block. So as SOON as I switched the charging blocks my watch started charging correctly.

So I suggest reading your documentation again, and use the cable and charging block that came with your base. At least the power supply block.

Get help if your Apple Watch won't charge

If your Apple Watch won't charge, or a message on your watch says that charging with this accessory isn't supported, try these tips: 

* Make sure that you're using the Apple Magnetic Charging Cable or USB-C Magnetic Fast Charging Cable that came with your Apple Watch.

* Make sure that you plug the Apple Magnetic Charging Cable or USB-C Magnetic Fast Charging Cable all the way into the USB Power Adapter, then make sure that you plug the adapter all the way into a power outlet.

* If you use a third-party charging stand, use the charging cable that shipped in the box with your Apple Watch.

* Completely remove any plastic wrap from both sides of the charger. 

* Make sure that the back of your Apple Watch and the magnetic charger are clean.

* Reposition the back of your Apple Watch on the charger. When the charger's magnets align correctly with your Apple Watch, a green or yellow lightning bolt  should appear on the watch face.*

* Try a different Apple Watch Magnetic Charging Cable or USB-C Magnetic Fast Charging Cable, and a different USB Power Adapter. If your Apple Watch is out of power, you might need to wait a few minutes for the lightning bolt  to appear after you start charging your device. 

* If your Apple Watch still won't charge, force it to restart. Press and hold both the side button and Digital Crown for at least 10 seconds, or until the Apple logo appears.

my issue has been resolved after latest watchos update.10.1. Now my watch is charging with my thirdparty charger.🤟🏽

This is a very weird issue. I've got a 3rd party watch/phone charger combo. The watch stopped charging after one of the updates. The phone charging cable is stock Apple. When plugged into the 3rd party stand, however, it does not charge. OK, I figured it was an Amp issue. I unplugged the watch USB charger from the 3rd party stand and plugged it directly into an outlet. The watch still wouldn't charge. What? I removed the USB charger completely from the 3rd party stand and the watch charges just fine. I plugged the USB back into the 3rd party stand with the connector off the stand and it wouldn't charge. This told me that it was indeed and Amp issue. But here's the kicker...I plugged the stock USB charger into the wall and connected it back to the stand...and the watch WOULD NOT charge?! It's almost as if it stops working if the watch is too close to the wireless phone charge plate. Doesn't make sense, but it's what happens.

Ultra watch will no longer charge on my 3rd party charger just started today after I updated to 10.1

Well... it's the end of January and this issue has been around for a couple years.

I'm confused because someone said they updated to Watch OS 10.2 in Dec 2023, but it only became available now, end of January, 2024. I just updated to Watch OS 10.2 and iOS 17.3 on my iPhone yesterday.

Anyway... I still have the problem. I've contacted my charger manufacturer but no response. There's something else going on because NOT all 3rd party chargers are having issues, nor even within a single make or model. Meaning... others who have my charger aren't all having this problem.

[edit] Oh... I have S4 watch, and iPhone 12 pro - again... both with the very lates OS's as of writing.

I am not sure if mine is due to new update, I know that it was completed a few days ago. This issue started last night, charged the phone all night. This morning it was not working. I cleaned the contacts made sure my third party charger was connected properly, it charged my iphone and airpods all night. I also did a restart and was able to get the apple logo on the face, but that is all that showing up. I have placed it another charger same issue, so I placed it back on my current charger and the blue light for charging came on but no lightning bolt only the apple logo

are you guys still having this issue? Didn’t have this problem with my older watch but just got the SE and while it says it’s charging with third party stands it only charges with the cable it came with.

I am having same issue with my apple watch series 7. After updating to 10.0.1.

Please wait till next apple watch software update thn only we can chk wtr its charging or not and till nw no sol".

I have the same issue and was hoping latest update would fix it but unfortunately not. Its a wireless charger so cables not the issue. Really disappointing
