iPhone Calendar Search not working iOS 17.0.2

this issue carried through to ios 17.4.1 for me, and apple support did not know a resolve despite escalating examples to their engineering team. Ipad os worked perfectly as expected vs iOS.

I really appreciate your prompt reply and outlining instructions. However, when I follow these steps I can't see the option to select to "sync with Outlook". I am not entirely sure. And if my phone has backed up, I'm guessing I won't be able to do a data recovery as it will back up to when I lost my contacts. I even manually added people into my contacts from text messages I received but when I pull those contacts in my contact folder on my phone - it shows the search with nothing. Very strange.

Thank you so much Osiris Ani! Your solution worked great. After I toggled the "Show Content in Search" off, I rebooted my iPhone. Then I went back into the Settings & turned the "Show Content in Search" back on. And it worked! I'm using iPhone 15 pro with iOS 17.4.1.

I recently downloaded iOS 17.5 and began having search issues with my Calendar app .. I followed your instructions but I didn't delete the info .. I waited one minute as suggested & turned it back on .. voila! it all was working perfectly again ..

Hello, I wasn’t able to get my calendar back either, but the, Settings > Siri & Search > Calendar

Toggle “Show Content in Search” off, and then back on suggestion from Osiris Ani worked for me. When I got to the calendar, I turned everything off. Waited about 30 seconds then turned them all back on. I really hope this helps you as well. I know how maddening it is to not be able to access past, important events. You’re right. We pay way too much money for these phones to deal with these issues. Don’t even get me started on trying to crop and set a photo for my contacts. 🤬

Thank you!! You mentioned 2 key points others didn’t. Wait a minute to turn back on and it can take a while for things to fully reload. Only knowing those 2 steps was I able to successfully make the update. Thanks very much!

Hi, I just got an iPhone 15 Friday and found the same problem. I tried what you suggested but it worked only partially. The search was restored for a segment of time 10 years ago. No thing in between. I tried the other two approaches mentioned in this thread but your solution was better and simpler.

Please somebody clearly outline what is the correct way to solve this issue. Thank you

not working for me and I can’t get anything post 2019 to show in the search. So frustrating 😫 if anyone knows of any other tips that have worked it would be greatly appreciated 🙏🏼

I’ve found that anything you add after the update is searchable. Just nothing that was there before!

It took a bit of time for it to load it back up but my calendar is all up to date with all my events!

The calendar option wasn’t on… it was before moving to the iPhone 15, so I switched it in and functionality is slowly coming back. Thank you

Never had any “underlying” issues prior to updating to ios17.0.2. How do we fix the calendar issue? I can’t see any of my appointments or add any!

How did you manage to fix it? I can’t access any of them and the Privacy Settings don’t show me anything specific to gain access to my calendars
