iPhone Calendar Search not working iOS 17.0.2

Updated my 15pro to 17.0.2 and I can no longer search in the calendar app. No matter what I search for, it comes up with “no results”

My calendar has successfully transferred all appointments, but nothing will come up in a search

I managed to fix from this answer. Might help for you also

“I was just on the phone with Apple support about this same issue and here is the fix that they gave me that worked: Settings>Mail>Account (select the correct account)>Calendar

then toggle OFF calendar. It asks if you want to delete the account and you accept. After about a minute, toggle it back on, and the calendar entries will start repopulating, and the search function will start working. Depending on how many calendar entries you have, it will take a while to update, but I have thousands and it updated in less than one hour. Search function works again.”

My iCloud calendar works fine. However 1 out of my 3 gmail account appointments won’t come up. Unfortunately, this is the one that all my important appointments are. Any invite I accepted that was sent to that calendar isn’t coming up. I have issues accidentally double booking myself because of this issue. None of the suggestions below have worked. Any advice?

Hello,

Since you were able to rectify your iPhone calendar issue, would you be willing to help me resolve mine?

I just bought an iPhone 14 Pro and I can’t risk deleting my calendar either, but I’m not sure what some of what some of the instructions Osiris gave even means. Like, I cannot even find the “use on this phone” tab.

This is maddening! We shouldn’t have these issues.

Thanks,

Kellie

Have you tried logging into iCloud...if you sync contacts with iCloud? Or, do you sync contacts with Outlook on your computer? Check if your contacts are in Outlook. If so, you should be able to recover by

  1. Opening iTunes
  2. Plugging your iPhone in
  3. Clicking the iPhone icon at the top near the left side
  4. Click Info & make sure that you sync contacts with Outlook.

P.S. To be on the safe side, make sure you backup your Outlook.pst file before syncing.

I really appreciate your prompt reply and outlining instructions. However, when I follow these steps I can't see the option to select to "sync with Outlook". I am not entirely sure. And if my phone has backed up, I'm guessing I won't be able to do a data recovery as it will back up to when I lost my contacts. I even manually added people into my contacts from text messages I received but when I pull those contacts in my contact folder on my phone - it shows the search with nothing. Very strange.

I'll post this again, since it hasn't shown up. Do you sync your iPhone contacts with iCloud or with Outlook? If iCloud, sign into iCloud. You'll see this in the upper right corner.Click on the dots & you'll see a choice including contacts. Click on it & see if it's there.

If you use Outlook, open iTunes, plug your iPhone into the computer. You'll see an icon for the iPhone in the top row, near the left sideclick on it, then click on info. You should see this:

and after clicking Info, this:

I sync my calendars, not my contacts, but if you sync contacts with Outlook, you may be able to recover it.

Hi, I just got an iPhone 15 Friday and found the same problem. I tried what you suggested but it worked only partially. The search was restored for a segment of time 10 years ago. No thing in between. I tried the other two approaches mentioned in this thread but your solution was better and simpler.

Please somebody clearly outline what is the correct way to solve this issue. Thank you
