Updated my 15pro to 17.0.2 and I can no longer search in the calendar app. No matter what I search for, it comes up with “no results”
My calendar has successfully transferred all appointments, but nothing will come up in a search

I managed to fix from this answer. Might help for you also
“I was just on the phone with Apple support about this same issue and here is the fix that they gave me that worked: Settings>Mail>Account (select the correct account)>Calendar
then toggle OFF calendar. It asks if you want to delete the account and you accept. After about a minute, toggle it back on, and the calendar entries will start repopulating, and the search function will start working. Depending on how many calendar entries you have, it will take a while to update, but I have thousands and it updated in less than one hour. Search function works again.”

The solution was to toggle the iCloud calendar “use on this phone” back to on again. It then asks if you want to merge your local existing calendars. You need to allow that. Thanks for the help everyone!
Settings > tap your name > tap iCloud > Under “Apps using iCloud” tap “Show All “> tap iCloud Calendar > switch off “Use on this iPhone” > then choose “delete from my iPhone.
Wait a minute or so, and turn “Use on this iPhone” back on.

Go to Settings/ Calendar/ Accounts/ iCloud/ iCloud/ Show All (Make sure Calendar is toggled on).
Also try this - open your calendar app. At the bottom, tap Calendars. Uncheck all Calendars. Tap Done. Do a hard restart of your iPhone. Go back to Calendars and check them back on.

Settings>Your Name>iCloud>Show All>iCloud Calendar> toggle off “Use On This Phone”…wait a couple of minutes, then toggle “Use On This Phone” back on. Then wait for events to repopulate Calendar. Then search should work. It did for me!
There’s an even simpler fix:
Settings > Siri & Search > Calendar
Toggle “Show Content in Search” off, and then back on.
This basically does the same thing to reestablish calendar search without actually needing to delete it.

You do NOT have to delete your calendar to make the search function work again. Just turn off calendar in iCloud, keep data on phone, restart phone and turn calendar back on on iCloud and then select ”merge “ for the data - search now works and your calendar events are still there.

Am so glad to have the search facility back on my Calendar on my iPad… it was driving me nuts!
Sadly this didn’t work for my iPhone Gmail calendar entries.
I did the thing below: settings-mail-choose my Gmail account… then toggle calendar off, wait a minute, toggle back on. The entries reappeared and show up in search now!!!
Thank you so much Osiris Ani! Your solution worked great. After I toggled the "Show Content in Search" off, I rebooted my iPhone. Then I went back into the Settings & turned the "Show Content in Search" back on. And it worked! I'm using iPhone 15 pro with iOS 17.4.1.
Hello, I wasn’t able to get my calendar back either, but the, Settings > Siri & Search > Calendar
Toggle “Show Content in Search” off, and then back on suggestion from Osiris Ani worked for me. When I got to the calendar, I turned everything off. Waited about 30 seconds then turned them all back on. I really hope this helps you as well. I know how maddening it is to not be able to access past, important events. You’re right. We pay way too much money for these phones to deal with these issues. Don’t even get me started on trying to crop and set a photo for my contacts. 🤬
Everyone still having issues, please check Settings > Calendar > Sync. Makes sure that’s set to “All Events” if that’s what you desire.
If you’re not using iCloud Calendar, likely none of these steps will help.

If it’s a Gmail calendar :
Go to Settings/ Calendar/ Accounts/ Gmail/Calendars and toggle off for a couple minutes and back on. It worked for me with a Gmail calendar
