iPhone speaker not working after iOS 17.1.1 Update

I’m happy that worked for you. Unfortunately it didn’t make a difference for me at all. I’ve done every other setting change suggestion, network, and full phone reset…nothing works.

so do you have to change the setting every time you use the speaker?

Precisely. Without speakerphone they hear me just fine, as well as with Bluetooth headphones. When I am on speakerphone though, for a call, FaceTime, or video chat on FB messenger, they say I’m cutting in and out and sometimes they can’t hear me at all. The setting didn’t fix it for me, I’ve tried it several times. I have an 11max pro so I can only access that setting while in a call.

I started having trouble with my iPhone 13 January 2024. Randomly people couldn’t hear me when using speaker phone. Then they would hang up. So in February 2024 I traded in my 13 and purchased the iPhone 15. SAME problem !! This is soooo frustrating because I use my speaker phone all the time. Now I have spent a lot of money upgrading and still cannot use speaker phone for phone calls. I have tried every fix mentioned and I do believe it is an Apple issue. What is strange is my family and friends are not having the same issues but I read pages and pages of other people who are having the same problems as me. I am so upset!

I am having the same issue I can’t receive or make calls without using speaker phone. I have tried all the things listed to trouble shoot it and even gone to the store where I purchase the service and phone with no fix. Are there any fixes for this?

Talked to "supprot" today to no avail. After I upgraded ONLY my speaker phone would work. I tried to reset and reupgrade and still nothing. Now all sound, even after trying multitudes of troubleshooting provided here and other threads, is null. The "support" quoted me $700 to do a mail in diagnostic since I am hours away from an apple store. The brevity of it just escaped this "support" person.

Long story short, they refused to RMA the device even after they ran a diagnostic, the phone under warranty, and seeing the diag state nothing shown. Well on to another new phone, due to being forced to after an update.

I want to thank Apple for not adhering to warranties or any actually troubleshooting, but to the staying with their bottom dollar intake.

Yes, when I call someone I can hear them, but they can’t hear me. When they call back they can hear. Immediately occurred after update

Did todays update to 17.0.3 solve the issue for those that had it w earlier 17 versions?

Until others say the updates fixed the issue I’m not updating anymore before something else goes wrong

I'm unable to hear the sound when I lift a call. I Have to on the speaker or connect to any bluetooth devices or earphones to take the call.

I think, It's one of the faults after ios 17 update
