I discovered that the volume control for speaker phone mode is independent of the regular iOS volume. This seems to be part of the 17.x update.

Make a call, set to speaker, and then adjust the volume up and it will all work fine.

This was driving me nuts as speakers worked all other apps except in the phone app.

Same issue. People can't hear me whether I'm using airpods pro, speaker, or just holding the phone up to my ear. Happened since 17.0.2.

Mic is fine, since I can make calls with third party apps without issues.

Serious problem that needs to be addressed immediately.

I switched from Samsung due to a similar issue.. to now have this with apple is ridiculous.

Does not do anything to help. I’ve had a clear case has the holes at the bottom for months and mine randomly went out in the middle of a phone call. My friend could hear one minute and then the next she could not. iOS 17 was decent until this ****. Normal calls do not work at all but FaceTime and Facebook messenger calls work perfectly fine.

AS soon as I downloaded the iOS 17.0.3 the immediate issue occurred where other callers cannot hear me when i am on a call. It’s not a faulty microphone issue it is not at all faulty software update, rather Its really crappy iOS 17.0.3 update, which has caused the problems, people cannot hear me. That's the basic function. I cant even call apple tech support.

I download 17.2.1 after getting my screen fixed . My mic stopped working while I’m on the phone shortly after and leaving me with no choice but to talk on the phone via speaker . My AirPods already never let me talk on the phone while I’m on them so I’m very upset and more mad at myself that I even downloaded this software . I’ve taken my mic isolation off and set it to standard ; didn’t work . I turned my phone off numerous times and nothing is working !!! Apple fix it ! ASAP ! No Rocky !

Did anyone find a resolution or is everyone else still not able to use speakerphone on calls or facetime? Also doesn’t work on messenger. The person on other end says it’s cutting in and out and they can’t hear me. Losing all respect for apple. Can anyone confirm whether they’ve acknowledged this issue and are working on a fix? I’ve only heard how iOS 18 is going to be amazing, yet they can’t give us the most basic, staple functionality that makes the iPhone an iPhone. Something is fishy. I don’t want to go back to Android but I can’t get another iPhone knowing this is how they go about their products. Basically forcing you to get a new phone when yours is perfectly fine. Not to mention they’re hurting the environment by pushing “fast fashion” phones with their bugs. How much extra waste does that contribute to? I guess Apple doesn’t care about sustainability. Just profit.
