I just updated to the new ios17 on phone however now my husband cannot call me but everyone else can. He can text me and I can call him but his calls go stright to voicemail

Do you have a contact saved for your significant other? If you're using Silence Unknown Callers and the contact wasn't saved or he's calling from an unknown number, it may prevent the call from coming through.
You can check for Silence Unknown Callers with the following: Detect and block spam phone calls
And this can help you to create a contact, if needed: Add and use contact information on iPhone
Do you use any apps to filter your calls? If so, we would remove the apps and then test out the issue.
Did you block the contact? Check with the steps below:

Are you by any chance sharing an Apple ID?
We have tried all the steps you mentioned and probably more and still he can’t call me but can text and FaceTime me. This is very frustrating because it was fine until I did the recent update
