Ventura 13.6: Touch Id breaks down on M2 MBA

Just upgraded to Ventura 13.6 on my M2 MBA. This machine suffered already under 13.5.2 from wacky Touch Id (sometimes working, sometimes not).

But now it does not let me register new fingerprints at all: the fingerprints do not "catch" (turn red), so I can't complete the registration procedure.

Anyone? (I am now trying to upgrade to Sonoma 14.0 public beta as a remedy...)

Turns out it was a faulty logic board - coinciding miraculously with the Ventura update. Apple did a great job replacing it under warranty.

Update: upgrading to Sonoma did not fix this.
