Is Wi-Fi password visibility disabled in iOS 17 Update?
Since updating to iOS17 I am no longer able to view the wifi password for a network that I am currently connected to. Is there a reason for that?

My iPhone is on iOS 17.3. I can see my password by selecting Settings > WiFi then tapping the "i" to the right of that name. Your password will show up as a series of dots.
Tap those dots, and your password will appear. Please note: I am not on iOS 17. I am updated to 17.3. Please try updating your iPhone by selecting Settings > General > Software Update. Follow the prompts to update. Once done, try looking for the password using my steps again.

Come on guys, when did everyone turn into luddites? You’re all In the wrong place. You go to the WiFi section in settings - tap Edit in the top right - all of your networks now pop up, hit the (i) informations about said network, and voila, password. You’re welcome
Go to -> Settings -> tap Wi-Fi -> tap the i -> then scroll to & tap Password -> enter your Passcode -> you will then see the Wi-Fi Password.
Tap ❮ Wi-Fi.
Then as posted:

Nicole, if you know the password to the WiFi network you are currently on, can you try forgetting that network and then re-joining by typing the password?
I found that most of my networks I have joined by sharing passwords. I just did these steps for my home network and now I can see the password.
I was having this problem, but solved it by turning off the “private wifi address” toggle, turning it back on and the reconnecting to the shared WiFi address. For some reason then the password field started showing again!
I can confirm exactly the same behavior: if a password is shared with me then it isn’t visible, but if it’s typed in manually then it’s visible. Seems like a bug. Since all passwords are visible on MacOS anyway, I don’t see how this could be silently addressing some security concern (since in this case it should be addressed on all platforms at once) - so most likely a bug. Apple, please fix it!
They aren’t a screen too far _ the password field should appear under auto join.
Since updating there is no longer a Password section in the information for the Wifi
Yes! That’s exactly the issue. Once I manually entered the password it started showing again.
THIS WORKS!
DELETE THE WI-FI AND RECONNECT MANUALLY ENTERING THE PASSWORD AND IT IS VISIBLE!!
I had the same issue, but was able to see other saved wifi passwords. All of the passwords that I couldn’t see were shared to me, not manually entered. Could that be your issue?
OP (and others) can’t see the menu option for ‘password’ to tap as it isn’t visible after update to iOS17.
This seems to be only for passwords//networks shared, not all.
It’s a frustrating update as it doesn’t cater for a user granted shared wifi access needing to add additional devices to the (previously shared) wifi.
Eg staying a friends house, wifi password shared to IOS then later wanting to connect PC laptop or game system to same shared wifi network.
I am updated to ios18. Visiting with a friend who shared their password to my iPhone but my iPhone doesn’t show the password. On iPad where I loaded the password manually I can see it. This must be an unannounced security feature which is frankly stupid! Especially as the share password feature isn’t available it seems to share a password that was shared with you and sometimes we need the password for more than just iPhone connectivity
The information page from following those instructions is what I shared a screenshot of, I used to be able to do exactly what you said to find the password and can no longer since updating my phone.
