Setting different Headers and Footers on odd and even pages in Pages

I am trying to lay out a book that has a different header on even and odd pages (and no header at the start of a new chapter) but all the posts I have found talk of options that don't seem to appear on my system (Mac Mini, Pages 13.2). Also, the page number is at the bottom of the first page of a new chapter and at the top right of other pages.

I cannot find how to set these up and below are grabs of the options that appear for me. All I can see is how to not show both the header and footer on the first page of a section.

The original book I wrote was done in Word Perfect 4.2 (shows how long ago that was) and it was straightforward to do these things.

Please advise.

Thank you

Hey there JP from EG,

To get help with your header and footer, we suggest reviewing the following Pages for Mac User Guide section, which discusses how to add and remove them: Add and remove headers and footers in Pages on Mac - Apple Support.

Should you need more formatting help after that, please reach out to Apple Support directly. They'll have the expertise and resources needed to further assist, and can be reached here: Get Support.

Have a wonderful day!
