i can not delete apps from my i phone 12
i hold the app down it starts to flash, i press the top left corner of the app to delete it and it only allows me to remove from home screen. This happens with all apps.

Removing apps may be disabled by parental controls. Check these settings before trying again: Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support
You can also try removing apps directly from the Settings app. Open Settings > General > Storage. Select an app from the list here and either Offload or Delete the app.
