iPhone 15 Pro Max Carplay Issues

I have a 2022 Wrangler with the 8.4" UConnect and I have issues with Carplay and the iPhone 15 Pro Max. I did not have the issue with the 13 Pro Max I traded in. But Carplay only seems to connect intermittently. About every other time I get in I have to unplug it and plug it back in to get to connect. Id assume that this is an iPhone issue since the 13 was fine. The 13 also had iOS 17 installed so wouldnt think it is a software issue either. Please advise. Thank you.

2019 Ram 2500 and iPhone 15 pro. I have to plug it in several times to get CarPlay to work. All the iPhones I have had the past few years and my wife's and daughter's phones work fine. I even bought different cables to try. It is just something with the iPhone 15 Pro. Please help.

Nothing to do with your vehicles. Now that the 15's have been out a week, LOTS of different vehicle discussion forums are full of threads about iPhone 15 pro - Apple CarPlay not working.

I am waiting for my telephone appointment with my senior tech rep Sunday morning. When I last spoke with him Thursday, he said Apple wanted more logs. Not sure if they are already aware of the problem, why they need more logs from my '22 JL Rubicon.

As an aside, I have not even attempted to see if there is a problem with the iPhone 15 Pro in my brand new '23 MB GLA45 AMG with CarPlay. At least it only has USB C.

Same issue here as well. I have an iPhone 15 Pro that I have to repeatedly connect and disconnect the Apple provided USB-C connector on my 2021 RAM 3500 with the 12.1 Uconnect system before CarPlay actually turns on. Unfortunately I have to perform the physical connect/disconnect >=6 times before it finally takes. Former iPhone 12 never had this issue.

I also have the issue where I can practically start a camp fire with heat coming off the back of the phone.

Return that adapter and get your $29 back. I sent mine back & Apple received it. Still waiting for my CC refund.

Thus far, only the Anker and Amazon Basics USB A to USB C cables I posted on a previous thread here have worked.

Luckily, I am on vacation for 9 days and not dealing with this frustrating CarPlay issue. I am hopeful Apple will have a software update that fixes this by the time I get home.

Okay I found this post tonight after thinking I was the only one dying inside for the past two weeks. I have a 21 Jeep with Uconnect. I tried two cables and ended up sticking with the USB-C cable Apple supplied with the phone and then a cheap USB A to C adapter from Amazon. I truly believe this is will be fixed with an update down the road but For now I think I figured out a solution. I just went down to my jeep and for the past 20 mins I tried several different combos. Finally and with 100% success it seems that if you start the car and let u-connect fully boot up and then plug the phone in and it worked everytime. I typically always plug my phone in first and then start the car so I never thought to try this. I’m going to try again tomorrow but I think this might be a temporary fix. I tried it both locked and unlocked. 🤞iOS 17.0.3

I have similar issue with Kia Carnival (2023; CarPlay updated last month by dealership) and my iPhone 15 Pro except I haven't been able to connect AT ALL. Used the Apple-supplied USB-C cable first and then every USB-C cable I had in the house (about 12 different ones) and no luck.

iPhone 13 Pro with lightning adapter works fine .... iPhone 15 "malicious compliance" USB-C just refuses to play ball.

The amount of connectivity issues being reported since the introduction of Apple's USB-C adapter on the iPhone is absolutely ridiculous. It needs to be addressed properly.

Well looks like the car manufacturers are getting sick of receiving complaints … the start up message on my Kia Carnival has changed in the last 2 days. The regular safety message about not using your phone while driving has been replaced by this in big bold writing:

Apple CarPlay and related content are features of iPhone and are not provided by the car manufacturer. If you experience any issues with this feature, please contact your phone manufacturer.
