iPhone 15 Pro Max Carplay Issues

Clearly an issue and Apple won’t admit it. I’m texting support now. He asked if I plugged in the usb c cable properly lol.

I have 22 wrangler with 8.4” uconnect. No issues with 14 pro max. Started asap I got 15 pro max. Have to disconnect many times to get it working.

Here is something. I kept my iPhone 14 Pro Max that worked perfectly with my jeep and it doesn’t bring up CarPlay now either. Both my 14 and 15 pro max work with my wife’s Audi. This is 100% on jeep and apple .

Considering android after 10 years away

Going though this with my 2022 rubicon and 15 pro max. Being told I need a software update on the jeep that only the dealer can do and have to leave it for days. Color me skeptical

The iPhone 15 Pro launches CarPlay FAST with both these cables. I had it drop out using a 2020 Mophie USB A to USB C that I had for an iPad Pro while I was talking to Apple Tech Support. So far, so good with BOTH these cables. Definitely have my fingers crossed.

I also tried my sisters regular iPhone 15 and had the same issues. Her CarPlay works fine in her car but it’s wireless. I’d be interested to see if someone with this problem is able to test it in different makes of vehicles to see if it still happens.

I have the same problem with my 2019 Ram 1500 with 12” Uconnect. iPhone 15 Pro Max iOS 17.0.3. CarPlay connects and works about half the time. It’ll be working great, I turn off the truck and restart and nothing. I tried multiple USB C - C cables. My 12 Pro worked flawlessly. I hope this is fixable in software

Escalated with apple and have some high level expert who we tried everything. No go. My phone works with my wife’s Audi so it’s not hardware on the iPhone side. Guess I’m going to take it to the jeep dealer and let them update software but not very hopeful. She said this is known and they have engineers working on it for an update. Not holding my breath

Update on issue, went to dealer for jeep rubicon gladiator . No issues on dealers test iPhone 13. Both my gfs 14 pro and my new 15 pro have constant disconnect issues. I have tried short fast charging usb a to c. Multiple different cables and slots and still same issue. Apple please fix. I’ve also tested my pro on my other vehicle no issues only on my jeep. Benz CarPlay works fine but super garbage on jeep

I think best way to tell if it’s an Apple issue or a Jeep issue would be if someone with this problem could find someone else with a Jeep and iPhone 15 Pro that doesn’t have this problem and test each others phone on each others vehicle. I think only then would we know if it’s the phone or the Jeep failing to connect?

I have a 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid Touring. The phone will connect Bluetooth just not usb. I have rebooted the phone, reset my card system software, deleted handsfree link on the phone and remove and readded the phone on my car. USB still goes to charging only. It will try to connect then for to charging and keeps doing this until I just disconnect the phone. I have a dash cam and have to use usb with allle CarPlay as I need Bluetooth for the cam. Didn’t have this problem before iPhone 15 pro max.

2020 Ford Explorer and iPhone 15 Pro Max same issues as everyone with Car Play not working. Ordering the USB A to USB C cable to see if it works. Updated the Ford Sync software already with no change.

CarPlay remains intermittent with the Anker USB A to USB C woven cable ('22 Rubicon 8.4" UConnect). When CarPlay connection is established, some features fail to perform as they should (Messages). Now, since iOS17.1 update, my iPhone 15Pro gets hot! When tethered for CarPay and sitting out of the sun, it gets quite warm to the touch. Yesterday, I used the 15Pro to shoot a few minutes of video, not connected via a cable and being held handsfree in a DJI-Osmo mount. The iPhone got HOT.

My tech support guy, whose direct contact info I have as a result of uploading numerous logs & over 7 hours of calls with over a month, has stopped responding.

I am not sure what to do at this point.
