iPhone 15 Pro Max Carplay Issues

I have a 2022 Wrangler with the 8.4" UConnect and I have issues with Carplay and the iPhone 15 Pro Max. I did not have the issue with the 13 Pro Max I traded in. But Carplay only seems to connect intermittently. About every other time I get in I have to unplug it and plug it back in to get to connect. Id assume that this is an iPhone issue since the 13 was fine. The 13 also had iOS 17 installed so wouldnt think it is a software issue either. Please advise. Thank you.

2019 Ram 2500 and iPhone 15 pro. I have to plug it in several times to get CarPlay to work. All the iPhones I have had the past few years and my wife's and daughter's phones work fine. I even bought different cables to try. It is just something with the iPhone 15 Pro. Please help.

Mine is not a Rubicon and I have issues. There is another guy on the forums that his and his wife's phone works flawless in their Jeeps with the Apple supplied cable. So there is no telling what is causing all the issues. I can say another guy on the forums has also reset his phone and set it up blank and it still had the issue so that rules our 3rd party apps. I noticed yesterday, when I get a call while in the Jeep, the ringtone will not route through the system. All other tones will just not calls. The call itself works fine. There seems to be no real rhyme or reason how this is working the way it is.

Update on issue, went to dealer for jeep rubicon gladiator . No issues on dealers test iPhone 13. Both my gfs 14 pro and my new 15 pro have constant disconnect issues. I have tried short fast charging usb a to c. Multiple different cables and slots and still same issue. Apple please fix. I’ve also tested my pro on my other vehicle no issues only on my jeep. Benz CarPlay works fine but super garbage on jeep

I too cannot connect my new iPhone 15 ProMax at all with my car. No Carplay, no audio, no phone, nothing. I spent a long time on the phone with an agent who told me that the auto manufacturer should update their software. HUH??? My 13 Pro Max never had a problem. Plus I have updated IOS to 17.03, no change. My older SE, with no sim, connects with no problem. APPLE you can do better here. Please.

I have a 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid Touring. The phone will connect Bluetooth just not usb. I have rebooted the phone, reset my card system software, deleted handsfree link on the phone and remove and readded the phone on my car. USB still goes to charging only. It will try to connect then for to charging and keeps doing this until I just disconnect the phone. I have a dash cam and have to use usb with allle CarPlay as I need Bluetooth for the cam. Didn’t have this problem before iPhone 15 pro max.

Got the update from the dealer and still doesn’t work for car play. Curious how many Jl jeeps have 15 pro max working.

Made a suggestion in a post that was deleted about contacting a certain phone maker and suggesting they either take the phone back or don’t charge me until they get it working on my jeep. CarPlay is not nice to have, but essential

I had an Iphone 13 pro max and did not have any problems with car play on my Jeep 2020. Now with the new Iphone 15, the phone connects and starts charging, but car play doesn't start up. I have to unplug and plug back in a few times before it finally connects. My friend also experiencing same problem with her carplay and Iphone 15. I have also tried different cables and nothing works like before. I have a feeling this is a software issue. If the phone charges, it's not a port issue. I hope apple updates the phones to function the way they should. It's frustrating.

Have this issue with a 2020 Hyundai Tucson (iPhone 15 Pro Max). Spent a couple hours on the phone with Apple a month ago. I have to plug the phone in at least twice before CarPlay activates (the phone always charges 100% of the time, it just won’t activate CarPlay). I’ve tried an Apple USB-A to USB-C cable. I’ve tried an Apple lightning cable with an Apple lightning to USB-C adapter. I have an Anker USB-A to USB-C cable. Nothing makes a difference. Apple looked at my logs, ran their diagnostics, and concluded that my phone was 100% behaving normally and there was nothing wrong with the phone. They suggested the problem was with the Hyundai. Except I also have a 2003 Honda CRV with a Sony aftermarket head unit with CarPlay and I have the exact same problem in that car. Have to plug the phone in twice to get Crpmay to activate. This does not happen EVER to my wife’s iPhone 14 Plus with iOS 17. It’s literally impossible for this to be anything but a hardware issue. I’m sure it can be fixed with a software update but it’d be nice if Apple would at least acknowledge there’s a problem.

Updating previous posts.

CarPlay remains intermittent with the Anker USB A to USB C woven cable ('22 Rubicon 8.4" UConnect). When CarPlay connection is established, some features fail to perform as they should (Messages). Now, since iOS17.1 update, my iPhone 15Pro gets hot! When tethered for CarPay and sitting out of the sun, it gets quite warm to the touch. Yesterday, I used the 15Pro to shoot a few minutes of video, not connected via a cable and being held handsfree in a DJI-Osmo mount. The iPhone got HOT.

My tech support guy, whose direct contact info I have as a result of uploading numerous logs & over 7 hours of calls with over a month, has stopped responding.

I am not sure what to do at this point.
