80% charge limit

I have this issue as well, iPhone 15 Pro Max is set to 80% Limit in iOS 17 Battery Settings, but the phone charged to 100% according to the battery charge graph, and was at 94% when I picked it up. The linked document states:

“With 80% Limit enabled, your iPhone will occasionally charge to 100 percent to maintain accurate battery state-of-charge estimates.”

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. We understand you have some questions about Optimized Battery Charging. When this feature is enabled, it does not prevent your device from charging past 80%. It will delay charging past 80% in certain situations.
