When I try to pair my new Apple Watch 9 with my iPhone 14 it tells me I need to update to the latest operating system. I’m on the latest version 16.7 and have reset both the phone and the watch but keep getting the same result.

If your Apple Watch shipped with watchOS 10, it will require iOS 17 on your iPhone in order to pair with it.
We'd recommend backing up and updating your iPhone 14, then try pairing your Apple Watch again.

Apple Watch 9 says iPhone 14 is out of date when it isn’t so won’t pair
