Control Center disappeared from Apple Watch SE after update.

That button doesn’t bring up my control center, it brings up an emergency call option.

DO NOT hold the button, as that does bring up Emergency services and the power off icon.

Just a quick press and release of the flat oval side button is what brings up the Control Center.

A double quick press and release brings up Apple Pay and the Apple Wallet.

A press and hold brings up Emergency services.

It is a multi-function button.

Getting the press and release timing just right can be an issue. You can make it more reliable by changing:

Settings -> Accessibility -> Side Button Click Speed

“Side Button Click Speed” can adjust the press and release timing, so you get the Control Center display every time. Adjusting The “Side Button Click Speed” is also useful for Apple Pay’s double press and release. There is “Default” (sub second timing of needed), “Slow” (up to a second between press and release), and “Slowest” (up to 2 seconds between press and release). I like the “Slow” setting.

NOTE: Slow and Slowest settings do not mean you have to wait a full second or 2 seconds between press and release. It just means you do not need to be super fast.

I can’t even find the “ping my phone” in the edit options. It’s just gone. How do I add the Ping My iPhone back to the watch if it’s not even in the “edits” to add back??

You can also just say “Hey Siri, Find my iPhone”

You are pushing the wrong button. Push and release the side button, not the digital crown wheel.

I really dislike the change to the Control Center. It is much harder to access and I use it on a daily basis. In addition, since the update to 10.0.0 and 10.0.1, my battery doesn't keep a charge for the day! After about 11 hours, I have to recharge the watch. This is very discouraging and I lose data for the Activity App. Is it possible to return to the older ios software?

I agree on the battery usage - I’ve taken a lot of apps off my watch which has helped. I don’t mind using the side button to access the control panel but it too me a while to find out how to access it.

I agree the swipe up worked fine and was more convenient. The small button requires dexterity that many don’t have due to handicap. It also is difficult for those that have severe carpal tunnel verse just swiping with a flat hand/finger. It’s also an issue with those whose button sticks which is a common issue on the series 6. Just google it. Some users can no longer access their control center. I think it’s partially designed to have people update and buy new watches. Apple please fix this option or give users the choice. You gave the option early on with iPhones who had a home button allowing a digital button to be activated through the digital setting portal. Please give user the options, and send a quick update to fix this.

Pressing the side opens the app switcher for me. Pressing it twice opens Apple Pay. Pressing the crown opens the app list and pressing the twice opens Apple Player. Swiping up won’t bring up the control center either. UGH!!!! HELP!!!!!

Do not press the crown. I was doing this. I learned from this discussion thread. Below the crown the long slender capsule shaped button. Press that once. Love having the control center available for quick access!

That’s odd, usually when pressing the crown twice it will open up the app switch. Just click the longer button bellow briefly like a tap and it will pull up the control center. Make sure your watch is updated as well.

Yes the "long slender capsule shaped button" brings up the app switcher for me. I wrote that as the "side button" in my reply. Pressing it twice brings up Apple Pay. The crown will open the app list and pressing the crown twice open Apple Player.

This happened to me too when I got a new phone. I figured it out tho! 🙌🏼 follow the pathway: watch app > general > reset > reset Home Screen layout

i don’t know if this will f up your old settings but whatever it’s worth it.
