iPhone 15 Pro Battery Drain Issue

I have bought iPhone 15 pro recently. The expectation is battery should be efficient, but is performing poor than iPhone 11. Especially Findmy app is used all night. The battery went down from 55% to 32%. Please help me to fix this?

Well, I just updated to iOS 17.0.3 and my iPhone 15 Pro 512gb natural titanium is still as warm as ever and the battery has still dropped 15% in one hour …

I talked to someone who works for Apple and they said it’s not gonna get any better that they had better venting and heat dissipation for the 14 pro with the stainless steel and that the A17Pro Chip gets too hot …and titanium doesn’t allow it to disperse. I don’t think any software update is going to make this work. and when you have a hot chip, you’ll have a battery that drains extra fast.

i’m going to further test it tomorrow on Thursday and see how it goes — and then I’m taking it back Friday (within the first 14 days) and getting all my money back. I’m glad I kept my 11 Pro. I would suggest everybody to do this as Friday is your last day to get your money back since it was the first day you could pick it up in the store

this is by all means a massive hardware design defect and there’s no remedying it. I don’t know what Apple‘s gonna do with this one. The only way they can stop it from getting hot is the throttle that A17 chip and the expert I talk to said that’s not even gonna help much. Some units are fine some aren’t. I’m not gonna gamble my $1500 on it again.

Same as. I have upgraded from a 1st gen SE (yes 8 years old) whilst the 15 pro is faster the battery life is abysmal. For a 'flagship device' I think Apple have ripped us all off big time. Why not make the phone 2mm thicker and give us decent capacity? Leaving the phone unused seems to be the only way to get through an average day's use. It is rediculous to have to charge again mid afternoon! I purchased from Istore (where returns are only accepted in 'pristine unopened packaging' and then with a 20% forfeit (otherwise Apple would be getting the phone back to doubtlessly resell) I have been through ALL settings to optomise to highest efficiency possible. Even turned on Low power mode now. Apart from this power travisty I have found it buggy with issues such as dropped calls (with perfect reception) Front facing camera not working for FaceTime sometimes only fix I found was a phone reset. Also phone switching to Mobile data when wifi signal is perfect. All stuff I have NEVER seen before. Not sure Apple have a successful product here. The 14 didn't get best reception. Why not go for a two year release cycle and do the right thing for us (the customer) instead of pandering to commercial interests alone. Cynical opinion but I have to say as I find (AND READ!)

I got my iphone 15 Pro yesterday and today spent the day out. From 11-5 and battery was almost dead when I got home (battery on 96% when I left home). I am NOT HAPPY AT ALL. Will be going back to my cellular provider on Monday. I had an 11 before and had it for 3 years. I was ready for a new phone because that battery wouldn't stay charged. The 15 Pro battery life is worse than my 3 year old 11!!! Hoping my carrier will have some answer on Monday.

My children got iphone 15's a week ago (not the Pro) and their batteries are lasting 18 hours.

Latest I’ve read is that Apple is woring on bug fixes and will release 17.1 by month end. Having said that, sounds like focus is on overheating issues. Location services were my biggest loss of battery life. Improvement in battery life but hassle to keep switching on and off. Why should we have to? Battery in pro is clearly too small. Not a good situation. Apple seemed to have cut corners and will loose sales and revenue. How dumb???

im seriously in same boat, i still have my iphone 14 pro max ready for trade in ive compared them both and my iphone 14 pro max.. the 14 pro max last longer *with same IOS 17 and has about 29,000 pictures and videos.. ... from 100% to 85% in 2 hours at this rate, u wont even be able to use the phone normally as it will die out if you're out with no charger! im having second thought returning my iphone 15 pro max but with accessories i purchased, mag safe case, mag safe charger, couple of tempered glass, usc-c cables.. such a hassle returning those too.. i seriously hope theres a fix through software update soon so i dont have to resort to this.. for first time since 13 years ago since i purchased my iphone 4s i never experience battery drain like this! very disappointed with this years iphone 15 pro max

on my experience at the begging when i just got the phone battery was just draining fast, after a week in a day that I'm not working and using my phone most of the day on Spotify, YouTube, Instagram , WhatsApp, games, facetime, etc etc, my battery last around 9 to10 hours and just charging it the day before at night 1 time, so basically i just connected to the charger just 1 time per day that's all. on a day while I'm working battery last around 12 to 14 hours, so that should be good enough ? at the begging i was kinda worried about the battery draining fast and was thinking just go and change it for the pro max, hope phone keep working well since is just 14 days to exchange it

Same here so I did a test.

I charged my iPhone 15 pro to 100% and pulled the plug and left it alone. Within 9 hours with zero activity it had gone down to 64%.

+ within 1 additional hour, I picked it up, opened safari and typed this message and I’m now at 54%.

With a total of 20 minutes of screen activity in 10 hours I’ve lost almost 50% of my battery.

My 11 pro and 13 pro would be at 80% +..

You managed to return the phone for a new one? I’m sorry I can’t see the whole thread. Been having my 15 pro max for over 3 weeks. Always on off. Reduce motion. Dark mode. Almost every app background app off. Hardly touch the phone. And the phone battery just drains. One morning I tracked it. Fully charged 100%, used 11 mins in 2 hours. Batter is now 94%. My 14 Pro max sits much much longer at 100% after using for 30-40 mins. And that batter health is 90%. My 15 pro max shows a batter health of 100% but is absolutely lousy in lasting. Especially the standby life.

Mine went from 100 to 63 per cent with hardly any use except emails and facebook, not even videos. I'm taking it to the service tomorrow and will have them keep changing the device until they give me one with good batteries. I think we should all do that to pressurise them to fix the issue. These are expensive phones. I cannot go back to my old one as had it sent back towards costs... :/ pfff

This is happening to me too, my IPhone 15 pro is literally draining 10% in 20 minutes after a 5 minute talk using whatsapp and now browsing the internet and replaying this thread. It went from 80% (last charged), to waking up 9 hours later it’s at 76%, no alarm, then I started using it and right away it drops to 74%. I call my friend via whatsapp for around 5-10 minutes and now I am browsing safari about this issue and replying this thread. It has been around 9 hours and 30 minutes since it last charged to 80%, and now it sits at 68%. That’s 12% in minor usage. I did just turned the low power mode just now. It helps I guess.. but it stills drain around 1% in a minute or so. Is everyone else experiencing it like this? Thanks.
