Don't know how to install Samsung ML-2160 printer drivers

Hey,

I'm trying to install my old but wonderful Samsung ML-2160 printer to my new MacBook Air M2 (Monterey 12.5).

I've gone through several support threads here on similar topic, most of them refer me to a download link from HP.

An example solution is described for example in: Samsung leserjet 3400 printer not printing - Apple Community

So I used the download link, but I can't seem to figure out how to install those drivers from the download. Can't find any executable files or similar from the folders and I'm all out of ideas (I'm new to Mac, sorry.. )

Would be really grateful, if anyone could help with that :)

EDIT: From other similar posts I understand I should choose Samsung M2060 driver. But I still have the issue of not knowing how to actually install the downloaded drivers.

Well, just as I posted my question, I had another idea what to try - and I finally managed to get my printer working.

Sharing my epiphany here as well, perhaps there are other rookies like me out there :)

The download link in my above post downloads a .dmg file.

Double-clicking it opens a folder with three folders in it:

I opened the MAC_Printer folder to find the following contents:

Double-clicking on Printer Driver.pkg started the installation and it went flawlessly.

This was the first I tried, but Mac can't run the .exe files in it (although the webpage says it's supposed to be meant for Mac, double-checked everything, but no use)

I only find drivers for OSX 10.1 to10.13‽

I'd try Generic PCL5e drivers.

Hi!

I have Sonoma 14.2.1 and have gone through the same steps that worked for you in installing Samsung ML-2160, but they have not worked for me. I have no idea what to do to install the printer. Can you help?
