Yes exactly. I’ve also noticed when the modular ultra watch face is switching from “night mode” the red face and being raised to wake it causes the screen to be glitchy the red mode will also blink with a timer on and running for me. Also the screen seems to be glitchy when transitioning from night mode to day mode and the other way also. And has the little bluish random bursts on the screen. I’ve since removed the timer complication and turned the night mode off and so far the watch doesn’t seem to be having any issues after that.

Came here to say I experience the same flickering when a time is running and display goes into always-on mode. Easily reproducible and Apple shouldn’t be wasting people’s time with unpairing/pairing or erasing routines. It’s baked into 10.0.2 and unless Apple is notified it will continue to be an issue. Beta testers can relay the info. I have confirmed that it’s only with the new modular watch face for Ultra.

Same exact issue on my Ultra 2 as well. Ultra 1 is fine and so are both of my series 5's, so it's not a WatchOS issue, it's definitely specific to the Ultra 2 for me. It doesn't matter which watch face too, mine did it on Modular regular, not ultra. I'm going to remove the timer complication I guess and see if that fixes it when running a timer.

Removing the complication does seem to sort it (though I still see it happening in overcast then so something is up). I also found the screen a bit glitchy generally as you describe, only with the modular face though.

I had night mode off when I was seeing the issues so don't think it is that.

I've noticed this morning though I can't reproduce it with the usual steps either for the complication or for overcast. So I'm wondering if it is somehow related to evening time and/or low light. Or maybe just intermittent.

Me too! But not with the timer. I got the series 9, 45mm the day after the launch. It’ll flicker anytime it’s dim when “always on display” is on. It was so bad, it would reboot itself or just shut itself off. So I went to apple last night and they exchanged it for me for a new one. They didn’t even bother trying to fix it. I opened up the box last night with it fully charged. I put it on today and it started flickering again! I’m so mad. I’m hoping it’s just an update issue and not a device issue. It’s not warm, it’s never been charged yet, no water touched it, haven’t dropped it, etc. I just turned off “always on display” and praying for a new update to come out (currently on iOS 10.0.2). Both watches were on that update. Hope they sort this all out
